All foreign visitors who come to Bali After February 14, 2024, this will have to be done pay a one-time entrance fee of IDR 150,000 (approximately S$13).
You can pay in Indonesian rupiah or with a credit card at one of the payment machines the five designated payment counters in the international arrivals hall at Bali Airport. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) will process the transaction.
Before going to the immigration counter for approval, you must pay for each member of your party, including children.
Once you reach the front of the line, the payment process for each passenger follows lasts only 23 seconds.
It is expected that Bali’s tourist tax will eventually be able to be paid in advance online through the Love Bali web portal, although it is not certain whether this feature will be accessible by mid-February 2024, when it initially comes into effect.
It would be a shame if this new tax collection made significantly longer wait times the norm, as the last landing experience in Bali was very short wait times of no more than 10-15 minutes.
It is a pity that the tax cannot be added to all flight tickets of international aircraft landing in Bali.
You cannot avoid the new tourist tax if you are a non-Indonesian citizen arriving in Bali by domestic airline or boat. Pay stations have also been set up at the Domestic Airport Arrivals Terminal and at Benoa Port.
As there are no immigration controls at the internal border, it is not yet clear how this will be implemented.
To enter Indonesia, a Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) must be obtained at a separate counter for IDR 500,000 (approximately S$44) on an international flight for those who are not ASEAN nationals. You can do this online in advance, skipping at least one of the queues upon arrival. If you are flying to Bali from another country, you will also need to complete the form electronic customs declaration before you leave and request a QR code that you can provide upon arrival.
