I
It is no coincidence that we have to witness ostentatious assemblages on our screens and red carpets every week. It’s almost as if there are no event setups, the universe subtly presents one to calm our curious eyes. Last week, fashion stars and influencers hit the carpets in peacock-like portions, some with understated poise, and others heavy with loud accessories. But overall, these looks stayed true to their direction and personality.
For example, the launch of Schiaparelli x Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills was a good reason for these stars to swing outside and slay. The avant-garde brand is infamous for its intricately designed pieces, and this star-studded event was another opportunity to showcase these creations to celebrities and their muses alike.
The looks
Actress Regina King hinted at the best way to rock red this season at the Schiaparelli x Neiman Marcus opening in LA. She wore a suede peplum top and black wide leg trousers from the brand, finished to perfection with a custom chain, statement cuff and ring. The carpet exuded black excellence as Mrs. King was spotted with other black queens such as Angela Basset And Taraji P. Henson. When Queens Link Up should have been the theme of this event.
The Culture Con was a refreshing breath of fresh air for New York City and a new space for Black creatives to express themselves through fashion. The street style displays, beauty trends and exhibitions were a 360 experience. Teyana Taylor received a Legacy Award and, as usual, brought her signature playing style and deeply creative spirit to the stage. The star made a plea against overloading leather and jewelry. She wore a black high-slit dress with a deep V and an oversized coat that echoed her famous edgy, sexy aesthetic. She complemented the outfit with stacked Dylanlex jewelry, thigh-high platform boots and all the right attitude.
Of Cardi B, every day is a show, and the world is her catwalk. For her 31st birthday, the rapper matched her party decor but still managed to stand out. She wore a sultry, sheer red dress with a long train that emphasized her curves. With her hairstyle evoking an old Hollywood dream and her nails determined to stay in the conversation, the resulting look was impressive.
