Those looking for a long-term stay will need a “Hojas de Identidad Provisoria”. Translation: a temporary ID card.
This document gives digital nomads access to a stay of up to twelve months in the country, while also allowing them to apply for a permanent residence permit.
The process is simple. Enter the country as a tourist, then apply for the card and sign an affidavit confirming that you have the financial means to live here.
