E
mpowerment wears many hats. It can be a push toward equality, a ladder to success, or a great fashion sense that boosts self-esteem without opposition. Last week’s events took an empowering turn, with women from all walks of life being rewarded for their impact on society. Whether it was the Glamor Women Of The Year Awards or the Forbes Power Women Summit, black stars rose to the occasion and swayed confidently in mesmerizing style shots.
The looks
When queens bond there will undoubtedly be a wave of tailors, and we saw that last week. At the Glamor Women Of The Year Awards, Lashana Lynch dazzled in a flowy Maison Rabih Kayrouz dress to present the GenZ Game-Changer award to the delightful people Halle Bailey, who opted for a chic Nicole + Felicia couture velvet mini number with rosette detailing. The two ladies were a source of inspiration for generations. What we like to see.
Meanwhile, the most talked about woman on the internet, Jada Pinkett Smith, decided that the best way to do a press trip is in optimal style. Last week we spotted the star in an all-white layered ensemble as she headed to the Today Show. The Loro Piana look, paired with a mini crossbody bag from Dior, provided the right amount of balance. No doubt Jada not only gets on the nerves, but also on the neck with her top coordination.
