The Best Red Carpet Looks From the 2023 LACMA Gala

The LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles produces a celebrity-packed red carpet every year, but this weekend’s soiree felt more starry than ever. With no major film premieres due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, Hollywood A-listers showed up in droves, serving up a glamorous range of evening gowns and suits. And since the evening was presented by Gucci, many attendees opted for striking looks from the Italian label.

Some fashion highlights from the gala? There were moments when couples turned heads, like when Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck arrived on the stairs and repeated: Lopez wore Gucci’s champagne-colored dress with a silk bodice and lace skirt, while Affleck chose a classic black tuxedo. Other stars chose to star solo. Kim Kardashian caused a stir in a bright pink strapless dress, complete with black opera gloves. Billie Eilish wore Gucci’s monogrammed two-piece set, complete with the label’s brand new vegan Horsebit bag. Lupita Nyong’o wore Gucci’s sheer burgundy tulle dress, with statement jewels from De Beers. Blackpink’s Rosé opted for Saint Laurent’s floral one-shoulder dress.

The cast of Killers of the Flower Moon, meanwhile, got a moment in the spotlight after their film’s premiere was undermined by the strike: Lily Gladstone wore Gucci’s red cape dress with sheer accents, complete with dental shell earrings by native designer Jamie Okuma; and Cara Jade Myers looked radiant in a playful white dress from Rodarte.
