Over the past ten years, Pepa Salazar has devoted herself to experimenting, paying special attention to pattern making. Her main endeavor as a designer is exploring the concepts of movement and the female body through her sensual stretch garments. For spring, she embraced her signature codes, but in a completely different light, looking at fantasy and struggle. “There are swords and warriors in long silk skirts, intricate godet dresses with a wet effect and twisted tulle to accentuate the silhouette,” explains the designer.
Prints with fairytale echoes are one of the hallmarks of this collection; long draped dresses with oversized hoods are another. “The purpose of all this is to intensify a dreamy, fantastic atmosphere in a world of intimate sensuality,” says Salazar. There’s also denim, a material the designer has worked with in recent seasons, but here with laser-cut designs and worn with earth-toned maxi dresses with military prints. The most surprising pieces came from lurex knit with geometric motifs that can be worn in countless ways.
