New York City is known to have beautiful Christmas displays. But there is much more than the tree at Rockefeller Center or the Dyker Heights Christmas Lights.

Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole
With a name like that, Santa’s Workshop is in the Arctic in the Adirondacks simply cannot be missed on our list. It is the oldest theme park in the country and has classic attractions, shops where you can buy nice gifts and an authentic Christmas village.
The best time to visit is during the Christmas Family Weekends, when you can expect lots of activities and gifts for little children from Santa Claus and his helpers.
Adventure in Lake Placid
If you’re as adventurous as we are, there’s no better place to visit during the holiday season than Lake Placid. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, you can go ice skating in Mirror Lake, dog sledding or take a ride on a toboggan track. You can go cross-country skiing on the nearby Van Hoevenberg.
Lake Placid is also a good choice for lovebirds. There are plenty of cozy cafes and restaurants, as well as romantic inns to enjoy each other and enjoy each other.
East Aurora and the 50th Anniversary Celebration
If you’re from Buffalo or happen to be in the area, make sure you visit East Aurora this year. This small town has a long tradition of Christmas celebrations and is best known for the annual Christmas Carolcade – an event where the entire town comes together and sings carols to remember what Christmas is really about. This year the Carolcade will be very special as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Another thing that makes this quaint town the perfect holiday destination is its old-world architecture and charming Christmas light displays. You can just take a walk and take in the festive atmosphere.
Dickensian Christmas in Skaneateles
Skaneateles near Rochester has a unique Christmas tradition: the popular one Dickens Christmas celebrate. The event will take place every weekend from November 24 and will offer plenty of activities to enjoy.
Watch a performance by the famous A Christmas carol, visit Santa Claus, or listen to live music while enjoying a free eggnog and chestnut snack. Skaneateles will not leave you disappointed.
Kingston and its magical Christmas markets
Hidden in the Hudson River Valley, Kingston is a charmer all year round. But the mix of American and European traditions makes it especially beautiful at Christmas.
You don’t have to travel far to visit the iconic German Christmas markets. It can be found in Kingston next to the Kingston Christmas Market, and you can see some beautiful Christmas shows, a performance by the Nutcrackerand listen to live concerts.
Rhinebeck – One of the most Christmassy cities in the entire US
Rijnbeck is about 20 minutes away from Kingston and is another destination with a beautiful Christmas atmosphere. It was actually called one of the most Christmassy cities in the US And we’re not surprised.
You can take part in a centuries-old festival whose roots date back to when the area was first inhabited by the Dutch. It is called Sinterklaas and is celebrated on the first Saturday of December. You can look forward to music, food, shopping and a huge parade through the city. Wanna try?
