If you’re bored in a world full of intriguingly different fashion displays, this could be considered an anomaly. Every individual has the power to express tasteful expressions of style and be accepted. Last week, this truth was reflected in the diverse array of stylish celebrities at events like the GQ Men of the Year party and the Latin Grammy Awards. While some ladies spun tailored menswear-inspired pieces, others slipped into silhouette-flattering ensembles with quite a display of textural play. All in all it was a week full of diverse fashion images, all in submission to individuality
The looks
We can unanimously agree to leave form-fitting cutouts to the beauty Chloe Bailey. For the GQ Men of the Year party, the singer dazzled in a Di Petsa latex number with an asymmetrical draped train and ruched waist. True to her statement-making personality, Bailey piled clear, chunky bracelets on the gloved sleeves and wore her signature waist-length braids for the culture.
Still at the GQ Men of the Year party, top model, Winnie Harlow necks pressed and the subjects obeyed willingly. Harlow opted for a Balmain ensemble with a custom leather peplum jacket paired with matching wide-leg trousers. She amped up the statement-making power of the offering with an over-the-top hat and rightfully completed the look with Paris Texas boots, all in black. When you wear a head-to-toe leather ensemble and eat without any crumbs left over, you’ve achieved a certain level of style that deserves to be emulated.
At the Time 100 Impact Awards, held at the Africa Kigali Convention Center, Rwanda, a South African celebrity said: Bonang Matheba was a sight in an ethereal Biji Couture number. The white wonder was dipped in large sequins that resembled scales and had a dramatic 360 textured detail that wrapped around her like a halo. Ironically, the heavily embellished dress exuded a calm aura, matching her neat and proper demeanor on the night.
