Have you ever tried to explain how amazing a place you visited is to a friend or family, but words fail you?

A term I often use is mood – and I’m not the only one. According to a recent Expedia report Vibe check-ins are trending. People increasingly choose their hotels and destinations in search of the ultimate atmosphere, and there is one beach destination and hotel that surpasses the rest.
Fort Lauderdale – The ultimate atmosphere
Until recently, I thought of Fort Lauderdale as an offshoot of Miami. Why visit Fort Lauderdale when bigger and better Miami is right next door, right?
Wrong!
Fort Lauderdale is an absolute gem of a destination in its own right, and I can’t wait to go back and explore more of what it has to offer. While Miami may be bigger, I certainly wouldn’t call it better.
From shopping at Las Olas to spending an afternoon sunbathing on the beautiful beaches, there’s one thing Fort Lauderdale isn’t lacking: The ultimate holiday atmosphere.

A destination on its own doesn’t quite deliver the holiday vibe that many of us crave, you have to combine it with an incredible place to stay.

One of the coolest parts about the W Fort Lauderdale was a truly unique perk that every guest can benefit from during their stay there: the Luxury Essentials Cart.
Let the front desk know that you would like the cart brought to your room, and you can borrow any items you want during your stay.
If that doesn’t scream good vibes, I don’t know what does!

Although most of the accessories were more suitable for women, I still had to see what was available 😂. They also plan to add more accessories for men in the future.
Endless things to do
Fort Lauderdale is FULL of things to do, and that’s if you even feel the need to leave the W!
The W Fort Lauderdale has the perfect spot to soak up the sun in style on the rooftop WET deck, complete with an amazing pool, cabanas and staff constantly walking around to ensure your drink is always full.
Another nice thing about staying in the W Fort Lauderdale are the events they have at night. We were able to participate in cocktails with a live artist and music, and a very fun games evening.
And don’t worry: if you just want to rest and relax, the AWAY spa is just an elevator away from your room. I still dream about the AMAZING massage I got during my stay there.
Would you like to leave the hotel for a moment? Fort Lauderdale will not disappoint you. Take a bike ride along the beach, go rug making, try a bunch of different foods at Sistrunk Marketplace, or just walk across the street to the beautiful beach in front of the W.
If you’re looking for a great dinner spot, look no further Rocco’s tacos, and don’t leave without trying the freshly made guacamole! This was my favorite dinner of the trip and definitely a place I will visit again.

Perfect weather
You can’t talk about a beach destination with ultimate vacation vibes without mentioning how perfect the weather is.
December brings temperatures in the high 70s, perfect for a day out at the beach or an afternoon of sunbathing on the WET deck.
Rain passes quickly and night temperatures are mild enough to walk around comfortably in evening clothes.
Whatever vibe you’re going for, beach bum, old money or fit and fabulous, Fort Lauderdale has the perfect weather to accommodate you.
Beautiful beaches
Fort Lauderdale offers WAY more than just beaches, but it’s still the perfect place to lie in the sand and forget about the 9 to 5 waiting for you at home.
Whether you want to nap all day while working on your tan or get a little more active on a paddleboard, the beaches in Fort Lauderdale won’t disappoint.
And because the town is actually right on the beach, you don’t have to travel far to get food, shop or get a massage at the AWAY spa.
It’s worth it

It’s a beautiful part of Florida that I’m already looking forward to visiting again, and when I do, I’ll 100% come back to the hotel with the coolest vibe in town — The W Fort Lauderdale.
