“Due to increased tensions in various locations around the world and the possibility of terrorist attacks, demonstrations, or violent acts against U.S. citizens and interests, the Department of State advises U.S. citizens abroad to exercise extra caution.”
Currently, Ukraine continues to experience conflict, and in October tensions in the Middle East escalated following an attack on Israeli civilians by the terrorist group Hamas. As a result, several airlines and cruise lines have chosen to cancel their plans for the Middle East and Russian airspace has been closed.

Peru is still under alert level 2, meaning more caution is needed. However, the travel alert has been updated with new warnings about crime in the country. Visitors to Peru are urged to exercise extra caution due to high crime rates, civil unrest and the risk of kidnapping.
