Like it or not, the 2010s are coming back. First there was Kylie Jenner announcing that she was reviving parts of her “King Kylie” era with her new line Khy; and now there’s Sally LaPointe. Her pre-fall mood board, curated via her personal Instagram, included snapshots of her ever-present long stiletto nails, a Cartier jewelry box, and “Sierra” filtered images that showed off her affinity for black-colored clothing.
“These photos are literally from my own home: my favorite jewelry, my favorite things in my closet,” LaPointe explains. “It feels like a direct reflection of my wardrobe and personal style, something that many people come to the brand for; they notice the way I wear the pieces. Devoted followers of LaPointe will recognize her signature ensemble: a fitted top (often a turtleneck), paired with wide-leg pants, which form the building blocks of the collection. Flowy pajama-style trousers come in sequin and snakeskin embellishments to add some pizzazz, while bodysuits with revealing cutouts here and there are made for a night out.
This summer, Beyoncé wore a custom LaPointe metallic pink one-shoulder jersey mini dress Renaissance tour. For fall, the designer has reinterpreted it as a two-piece set with a cozy knit top and a sarong-style mini skirt. LaPointe remembered a funny slogan she shared with her team. “If Beyoncé can wear it, so can you.”
