Garden of the Gods, Shawnee National Forest
Do you want to spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city? We’ve got you covered. With its breathtaking views, Garden of the Gods is a crowd pleaser, and in winter it is even more majestic.
There are over 21 miles of hiking trails and the terrain is not difficult. But be careful, the stones can sometimes become slippery under the snow, so make sure you wear suitable shoes.

Starved Rock State Park

It features 4 climbable canyons: Wildcat Canyon (90+ ft), LaSalle Canyon (20+ ft), Ottawa Canyon (35 ft), and Tonti Canyon (60+ ft). But beware: they are all for experienced climbers only.
