The special appearance that comes with an upcoming year often calls for a clearer perception. It encourages individuals to make better decisions, including in terms of style. While this past week was a bit slow on over-the-top clothing (as many took a step back to review the previous year and make plans for the new year), the deals that made their way out were worthy enough to to stop a scroll. From preppy takes to intriguing volumes, the ladies found a way to achieve success, maintaining an uncompromising approach to fashion while laying the groundwork for 2024.
The looks
Beyonce managed to serve up chic celebrity style all year round. For most of 2023, the mother of three gave her money’s worth. But last week she took a break to indulge in a preppy look by Thom Browne in neutral tones. The checked set, consisting of a skater skirt and blazer, was styled with a white corset top, white GCDS pumps and a matching structured Maison Margiela bag for a minimal vibe. Whatever the theme, Bey is always right.
For the celebrities who came out after matching pajamas, decorations ruled the scenes. The will of Lizzo And Megan Thee Stallion found their magic in the seriously dazzling House of JMC songs. Lizzo’s mix of studded crystals and teardrop rhinestones added an icy feel to the already frigid temperatures. Meanwhile, Megan’s play with textures was a sultry addition to our end-of-year mood. It looks like the new year is ready for a good dose of shiny fashion. Shine through queens.
Elsewhere, Coco Jones was a full-on ball of black sass in an elaborate Annakiki dress for her ABC performance on New Year’s Eve. The number’s ripped bodice and voluminous skirt struck a balance between graceful and sexy.
