A sizzling meal straight from the chef’s corner is a top choice and subject. All eyes are unanimously focused on it with anticipation, giving many a choice: devour or recreate. In our case, it’s a sartorial meal with our favorite celebrities dishing out well-thought-out looks, all for the delight of hungry eyes ready to pin these alluring renditions onto their starving plates. Indeed, last week saw a stream of celebrities streaming in and out of the carpets in dignified ensembles, ready to ring in the new year.
Events such as the Book of Clarence film premiere, the Creative Arts Emmys, the Palm Spring Film Festival and Lebron James’ The Studio 84 theme party gave the week a stylish touch. And to top it all off, the 81st Golden Globe Awards celebrated an important year in cinema that also served as a remarkable opening to awards season.
The looks
Black was a prominent shade on the 2024 Golden Globes Awards carpet with asymmetrical silhouettes and a heavy dose of elbow-length gloves to combat the cold while staying stylish. Singer Andra Dag was sensational in a Georges Chakra number with an asymmetrical hem that ended in a flowy train. The mono sleeve had a floral detail on the shoulder that accentuated the flirty hem. She paired this with transparent gloves, matching pumps and diamonds, because why not?
Beyonce also attended Lebron James’ Studio 84 theme party Jay Z, and it’s safe to say she was a rose light to behold. Bey opted for a Missoni stretch mini dress with glittering drawstrings. The high-neck zigzag print dress sat nicely on her frame, while the Valentino platform heels introduced a Gen-Z vibe to the outfit. Styled with embellished Tiffany & Co. sunglasses and a studded Valentino handbag, the queen brought Beyoncé’s appeal to Barbiecore.
During her Color Purple film rounds Taraji P. Henson took a bold approach, spoke her truth and dressed for the role. We saw this even more last week when the star sizzled in black and white. In one instance, she dazzled in a gold version with a draped Alexandre Vauthier look for the pre-Golden Globe party. In another, she pleaded guilty to overdosing on pink at an Atelier Zuhra ensemble celebrating her Emmy nomination.
