Most popular domestic destinations
These are currently the most popular destinations in the US. The trend for 2024 is sunny, warm hotspots that offer a variety of activities for every type of traveler.
1. Las Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas was recently named the most popular destination in the United States. Although it is nicknamed Sin City, Las Vegas has much more to offer than its old reputation for gambling and casinos.
Today, Las Vegas is one of the entertainment capitals of the United States and there are plenty of family-friendly things to do. You can also discover breathtaking natural beauty just outside the city, such as Red Rock Canyon, less than 30 minutes from downtown Las Vegas.
2. Orlando, Florida
Another top destination in the US is Florida. This city in the Sunshine State is best known as the home of the Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando and other theme parks. And that’s what will draw many of the more than 70 million visitors who will come to Orlando in 2023.
But Orlando is quickly becoming known for more than just theme parks. It has a burgeoning dining and nightlife scene that is a lot of fun, as well as a thriving arts and culture.
3. Miami, Florida
Miami is breaking all tourism records, and it’s not hard to see why. This South Florida hotspot is known for its excellent beaches, such as South Beach.
It’s also one of the top destinations in the US for foodies, with many different influences. Furthermore, Miami is an important hub for culture and art.
The annual Art Basel festival draws huge crowds to Miami every winter, and other art-focused events take place throughout the year.
Most popular international destinations
If you’re dreaming of traveling abroad in the new year, these are the most popular international destinations right now, according to Hopper. The trend of warm and sunny holiday destinations continues here, with one notable exception.
1. Cancun, Mexico
Cancun will remain the top international destination for Americans through 2024. It’s easy to get to, with affordable nonstop flights from about 40 cities in the United States.
Cancun has great beaches and a wide variety of resorts and hotels for every type of traveler.
High season in Cancun lasts from December through April, and here’s what travelers need to know about visiting this popular time of year.
2. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Punta Cana is currently the most popular destination in the Caribbean for travelers and will welcome more than 10 million visitors by 2023.

Finally, one European destination makes the list of most popular travel hotspots in 2024, and that’s London.
This British capital is a favorite among American travelers looking to travel across the pond because it’s easy to get to and there are very few cultural barriers to overcome.
London offers an astonishing variety of historic sites, museums, shops, restaurants and bars that will appeal to any traveler. It is also a great base for day trips around the United Kingdom.
