The 2024 Emmy Awards kicked off last night at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The 75th annual ceremony, hosted by actor and comedian Anthony Anderson, honored the year’s best television last night (the 2023 Emmys were postponed until last night, so many of the categories also reflect last year’s best series). The winners included some of the year’s most talked-about series, such as The crown, the last of us, the white lotus, successionAnd Yellow jackets. And the best part? The shows’ leading stars were all present on the 2024 Emmys red carpet – we saw A-listers like Rachel Brosnahan, Quinta Brunson, Bella Ramsey, Pedro Pascal and Jeremy Allen White.
Before the trophies were presented on stage, the star-studded step and repeat was a fashion spectacle. After all, the Emmys have a history of producing glamorous dresses and sharp suits that invade our collective consciousness. In fact, there are 51 memorable Emmys looks that have stood the test of time. Remember Chloë Sevigny’s chic Isaac Mizrahi one-shoulder dress from 2009, or Sarah Paulson’s green, bejeweled Prada number from 2016? More recently, the 2021 Emmys also delivered standout style moments, like Michaela Coel in her neon-bright Christopher John Rogers column dress, and Emma Corrin in their pale yellow Miu Miu look, complete with opera gloves and, most importantly, a beanie.
