The metaphorical appeal of comparing a delectable style to a well-served meal is an appropriate connotation, and the language “eat and leave no crumbs” further emphasizes this point. Season after season, the streets of Lagos can be compared to a cooking show with each style girl and her glam team offering a wide variety of pleasing portions, both for their enjoyment and for us, the spectators. Service is indeed a lifestyle given the diverse inclusions of eclecticism and personal influences in fashion. And like any foodie amidst the vast culinary possibilities, our mood boards are bursting with inspiration, yet somehow there’s room for another satisfying outing.
Check out the fashion photos of stylish Lagos baddies recently…
#1. Orange you blue-tiful
Nollywood actress Rita Dominicus was a beautiful wedding guest in a Lanre Da Silva outing. The maximalist outfit featured a velvet top with mono sleeves, a high-low ruffled hem and an embroidered floral waist. She paired this with an orange skirt for more splendor. Although both are strong shades, the combo blended into a sweet symphony.
#2. Pure sass
While some say that the pure trend has done its bit, the craze remains assertive. Ex-BBN housemate Erica Nlewedim reminded us of this in an off-the-shoulder Matopeda offering. The split, lightweight fabric exuded a sultry feminine vibe, and her braided updo was a reminder of her African heritage.
#3. Monochrome with high gloss
Nigerian designer Yutee Rone celebrated her birthday in a metallic monochrome look. The high-slit cut-out dress featured a drawstring at the bust and a ruched waist that appropriately accentuated her body. She injected purple platform heels and statement earrings into the mix for more pizzazz. This is a hot outfit for a date night that will add an extra dimension to your relationship.
#4. Fresh and playful
This AWAKE Fashion skirt with laser-cut circles is making its rounds among the style girls. From its length to its texture and playfulness, it evokes a sense of whimsical wonder. Most recently style influencer Hafsah Mohammed added her rendition, and the result was the truth. She paired it with a long-sleeved white Jacquemus crop top, studded evening sandals and a mini bag that couldn’t go wrong.
#5. Sturdy prints
Some trends have sworn allegiance to stylish Lagos bad boys. One of these is zebra prints – the Blair Waldorf among prints. Fashionable, never-ending and always at the forefront. Nonye Udeogu paired her black dress with side pleats, a structured zebra print bag and gold accessories, showing us a different way to style the print. While the zebra print purse was the truth, we couldn’t ignore her statement jewelry that pushed the ball further.
#6. Green with grace
Kiss from the chef for the chef himself who knows how to prepare a good meal and outfit. Hilda Baci posed in a pastel Oríré dress for the cover of Daily Times Now magazine. Although it was a simple dress, it showed a touch of distinction that upheld supremacy and stride. Hilda Baci is one of Lagos’ stylish villains whose beauty and brains remain evident to all who catch a glimpse.
#7. Asymmetrical elegance
A black midi dress is an essential piece with versatile styling potential. The key is to choose one with different details or to use a lot of accessories. Tania Omotayo took the first route in a black Templ8te dress with an asymmetrical hem and structured shoulders as she headed to the launch of the new ShowMax app. She paired this with yellow heels and a Lady Dior bag to underline her elegance.
