The country predicts that the country will receive more than 2.3 million tourists in the first quarter of 2024

The country welcomed more than a million visitors by air and sea in January alone, the majority of whom were Americans, officials said this week.

Less sargassum than Cancun

The sargassum issue is mainly limited to the east-facing Caribbean areas. It’s a problem, and difficult to predict.

West-facing areas such as the Bayahibe area of the Dominican Republic are much cleaner than Cancun.

In Punta Cana, seaweed is extremely uncommon from November to May.

When is the best time to visit the Dominican Republic?

Due to its year-round tropical climate, the Dominican Republic is often called the land of eternal summer. Although you can expect sunshine most of the year, summer officially lasts from June to August.

For Carnival and summer, December to March are ideal (27–30°C/80.6°F–86°F).

The best months for nature lovers to explore dense forests are June to November (28–31°C/82.4°F–87.8°F). From May to September (28–32°C/82.4°F–89.6°F), travelers on a budget can save money without sacrificing their experience.

December to April are the best months to travel to the Dominican Republic due to the sunny days and lack of rainfall.

2. La Romana

One of the most lavish vacation destinations in the Dominican Republic is La Romana. The seaside town of Casa de Campo is a popular choice for many international celebrities, actors and singers, including Beyoncé, Jay Z, Pitbull, P. Diddy and Cameron Diaz.
