Igerian stars were present all over the world this past week to celebrate birthdays, Valentine’s Day and attend Fashion Week in style. United by fashion, these celebrities and style influencers relied on top ensembles as a form of expression. The cutouts and minis came out to play, and barely there textures were firmly at the forefront of things. All in all, style stars presented their stylish selves in outfits that were indeed a sight to behold.
Check out the fun looks spotted by Nigerian celebrities and style influencers…
#1. Tiwa wanted
The icy weather had nothing to do with the Afrobeats queen Tiwa wanted. The singer attended the Burberry show in London dressed in chic layers from the brand, all featuring varying takes on Burberry’s iconic prints. The look, consisting of a bralette, a miniskirt, an oversized button-down shirt and a jacket, hit the spot. She completed the look with thigh-high boots and a yellow beanie. This is the top choice of maximalists on a cold fashion day.
#2. Mimi Yina
While most stylists play it cool and hide in the background, others like it Mimi Yina choosing to deviate to another tangent. She chooses the killing path and executes with precision every time. For the FTK – Konnect Bind With Me event, Yina accessorized the black tie dressing with a button-down shirt under a short blazer dress and a bow tie. To accessorize, she donned chunky black boots, a matching hat and a crystal-studded bag. The put-together ensemble was a smart choice for a Bond Girl service.
#3. Toke Makinwa
Always lean towards a black and silver combination on days when you’re experiencing a style rut. This combination accentuates any basic look with its appeal. Media girl Toke Makinwa took her style up a notch by rocking a mini skirt with a sheer top and tights. The skirt had a small slit with silver embellishments, and her bejeweled pumps added a pop of dazzle to the coordination. She completed the look with a silver hat to accentuate the look.
#4. Ini Edo
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Nollywood actress Ini Edo opted for a sultry pink number from South African designer Gert-Johan Coetzee. The heavily beaded dress had a cutout at the neckline, where the corset crossed and transitioned into a halter neck. From her earrings to her clutch and shoes, everything was a rosy display of femininity, reminding us that red isn’t the only shade that works well on Lovers’ Day.
#5. Alex Asogwa
To celebrate her 28th birthday, Alex Asogwa wore an asymmetrical blazer dress by Medlin Couture. This LBD featured clusters of pearls that matched her chunky pearl necklace. The sleeves featured a flare that merged in the back, and part of the hem featured a pleated delight. The dress was a bold take on a blazer dress, with perfection written all over it.
#6. Diana Enej
Valentine’s Day in Paris is almost every girl’s dream. But it is a reality for the beautiful people Diana Enej. For the occasion, she wore a sexy Udiahgebi dress with cutouts to celebrate at a restaurant in Paris. The high slit, nipped in waist and collar of this dress made it an obvious choice for a sexy night out with your partner.
#7. Tiwa wanted
During London Fashion Week, Tiwa Savage was spied front row at the Tolu Coker show in a preppy girl look. The brand is known for its eclectic collar choices, and the mini neutral dress Savage chose captured this feature perfectly. She paired the beige dress with a wide-brimmed hat, colorful sneakers and chunky bracelets. The playful look was an example of fun and style.
