The 96th Academy Awards took place on March 10 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, and as expected, it was a wild affair. By John Cenas privacy is hardly on a sign Ryan Goslings Marilyn Monroe-esque “I Am Ken” performance, all the activities kept the three-hour show upbeat. But nothing topped red carpet style. Whether it was the main event or the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, each joint delivered its quota to form an ensemble of fashion synergy. All in all, the best-dressed celebrities brought a heavy dose of substance to their red carpet adventures during the 2024 Oscars festivities.
See the best-dressed stars at the 2024 Oscars festivities and the trends they presented…
#1. Blinding shine
Oscars night shone with pride. The sequins and bling came out and the stars left no sparkle behind. Celebrities love Gabrielle Union-Wade And Zoe Lister-Jones wore heavily decorated dresses, Margot Robbie ditched “Barbicore” for a Thiery Mugler-embroidered gold corset dress, and Anya Taylor Joy was sparkling in a little black Miss Sohee dress with a bejeweled headpiece. Whether subtle or loud, the stars sparkled and sparkled brighter than a finely polished diamond ring on the finger of a satisfied bride-to-be.
#2. Asymmetrical silhouettes
On such evenings as these, it is little fun to put on a safe piece of clothing. Some of the best-dressed celebrities at the 2024 Oscars festivities let the cut and frame speak a thousand style lessons. Kristy Sara ushered in the drama in a statement couture gown by Tony Ward in the classic black and white color code to maintain the polished look. Simple yet complicated. While maintaining the same shades, Issa Rae wore a Valdrin Sahiti dress with white detailed sleeves. You know it’s a popular trend when Kelly Rowland comes into the group chat. Adopting the same colors, she bowed out in an exaggerated Nina Ricci number with two dainty trains on each side of an otherwise simple minidress.
#3. Shades of black
The color black was most prevalent among the best dressed at the 2024 Oscars afterparty. Different cuts and fabrics all held to the hue’s versatility. To name a few style moments of the evening: Jodie Turner Smith stepped out in a killer black “revenge” Gucci dress Vanessa Hudgens showed off her bump in a barely-there Alberta Ferretti number. And for the first time in never, Cardi B wore short black manis alongside her heavily embellished black Versace dress.
#4. Flirty feathers
During the Academy Awards festivities, the feather decorations on celebrities were unmistakable. Shonda Rhimes‘Erdem dress trimmed with feathers, Shannon Thorntons Bronx and Banco number, Coco Jones’ Dolce & Gabanna dress with feather sequins, and by Lisan Walter purple Christian Siriano-bedecked regalia are among an endless list of looks that lean towards the charm of a beautifully feathered outfit.
#5. Beautiful prints
Zendaya caused a stir on the Oscars red carpet (again), this time in a Giorgio Armani Privé gown with palm tree print and glitter. Elsewhere, Sara Sampaio matched the energy in a flared Zuhair Murad floral print number. Celebrities paraded various interesting prints on the red carpet, which inspired us to take it for a spin.
