You don’t have to travel far this summer to find a fun, budget-friendly beach town, and Myrtle Beach is the perfect example.
If you’re currently planning the ultimate warm-weather getaway and are struggling to find a place that’s not too far away and not too expensive, this South Carolina gem promises the perfect experience.
And if recent reports are anything to go by, most Americans feel the same way.
Myrtle Beach holds firmly to the “No. 1 domestic travel destination‘ spot this Memorial Day weekend, and the predictions for the rest of the season aren’t far off either.
But why is this particular hub so incredibly coveted, with so many beautiful cities scattered along the American coastline?
A budget-friendly oasis
If there’s one thing all travelers love, it’s a good deal, and that’s exactly what Myrtle Beach has to offer.
While prices in the city are certainly not cheap, they are still quite reasonable, especially considering that this is a beach destination with a lot to offer.
The average traveler here can pay around $900 for a week-long vacation, including transportation, food, accommodation, sightseeing, and everything in between.
That works out to just over $128 per day, and remember, that’s a generous estimate based on the expenses of the average traveler who isn’t overly concerned about choosing the most cost-efficient options.
Budget-conscious travelers, on the other hand, can expect to pay between €50 and €100 per day, and if you take advantage of the many free or affordable attractions spread across the city, you can bring that total down even further.
Beautiful beaches
What really makes Myrtle Beach such a great value destination is its beautiful white sandy beaches where you can soak up the South Carolinian sun.
And don’t let the cheerful energy of places like Myrtle Beach State Park give you the wrong impression; there are plenty of quieter, more serene shorelines (Huntington Beach State Park, for example) that offer travelers a much-needed chance to just sit back and relax.
Looking for an excellent fishing spot? Cherry Grove Beach is just a short drive away.
Do you have trouble finding a good place to surf? The waves at North Myrtle Beach are waiting for you.
There is so much here for everyone to enjoy, that even if you are an indecisive traveler and can’t find a place that fully meets your wants and needs, visiting Myrtle Beach is a safe choice. get to see at least one beach that you will absolutely love.
Enough to do
The incredible sea views are far from the only attraction drawing visitors to Myrtle Beach in record numbers.
The entertainment scene is great too.
Whether you’re looking for theme parks, theaters, live music venues, championship golf courses, exquisite restaurants or endless shopping opportunities, one thing is certain: you will never be bored during your holiday in this Soth Carolinian gem.
Additionally, with a mix of great nightlife and family-friendly attractions, Myrtle Beach is the ultimate beach destination for travelers of all ages and backgrounds.
Right now, an excursion with Captain Smiley Fishing Charters, a night at Escapology Escape Rooms, and a SkyWheel ride are all on my Myrtle Beach itinerary, but you can go there too here if you want to do more fun things in the city.
Dreamy weather
I can’t close without mentioning the city’s impeccable weather – you know, something that draws millions of travelers in the first place.
Summers here are sizzling with temperatures hovering between the mid-80s and low 90s, which is perfect for a good sunbathing session, especially if you have the clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean to cool you down.
Summer isn’t the only season to travel to Myrtle Beach, however, as temperatures in spring and fall can also easily reach the mid-70s, creating the perfect climate for those looking to avoid the scorching heat.
