The tradition of building human towers in Catalonia dates back to the 18th century. It all started in the small town of Valls, about 40 km west of Barcelona. Here the local population started building these impressive towers. Over time, various groups known as ‘colles’ began to participate in these events, making it both a competitive sport and an art form.
Those who love stand-up simply have to see a Basemint show in Barcelona. They are held every Sunday at Mint Bar, an underground bar in the heart of the city, and are 100% English friendly. Moreover, the shows are also very budget-friendly, especially if you book in advance.
If you’re a mindfulness enthusiast looking for new ways to connect with yourself, try SUCO. This South African movement combines meditation with electronic music and helps you embrace life in the present moment.
Sónar is probably one of the most important electronic music festivals in Europe. And for good reason. In addition to a great line-up, there are enchanting audiovisual light shows, parties and lots of dancing. All this takes place in the iconic open-air location Fira Montjuïc.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is an iconic circuit and often appears on the bucket lists of all motorsport fans. Come see (and possibly meet if you upgrade your ticket) F1 drivers up close as they practice, qualifying or the race itself.
