There’s nothing I love more than an all-inclusive beach vacation.
Unlimited cocktails, delicious dishes whenever I want and entertainment on tap. What’s not to like about it?
All-inclusive vacations are so easy, especially if you’re traveling with a young family, as I often do.
New figures show that the Dominican Republic has welcomed more than 5 million visitors so far this year.
According to CaribJournaal, that’s a 12% increase in visitor numbers compared to last year’s record-breaking visitor numbers.
And Punta Cana attracts most of these visitors as the Caribbean capital of all-inclusive resorts.
This is why:
Why choose Punta Cana?
Some of the most appealing elements of a Punta Cana vacation are the amazing white-sand beaches, the insane number of nonstop flights from all over the United States, and the island’s warm and hospitable people.
You can fly from Miami to Punta Cana in less than 2.5 hours, and flights can be incredibly affordable, too.
Frontier currently offers the cheapest flights between the two cities, with a nonstop roundtrip flight departing on August 8 and returning on August 12 costing just $256 (based on current prices).
Punta Cana International Airport is the cheapest airport in the Dominican Republic to fly into from the US, which also explains why the destination is so popular.
But people don’t just choose Punta Cana because it’s cheap.
Beautiful beaches, tropical wildlife, palm groves and the island’s exceptional natural beauty all attract visitors to the Dominican Republic.
The island offers consistent warmth and year-round sunshine, meaning there is no bad time to visit.
Affordable all-inclusive options
Punta Cana is attracting record numbers of visitors thanks to both the quality and affordability of its all-inclusive resorts.
Whether you’re looking to spend some money or save a few bucks, there are great options available.
There are 77 all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, so you’ll be spoiled for choice. But with so many options it means it can be difficult to know which resort to choose.
If money is no object, then the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is one of the best all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. It’s right on the beach with fantastic ocean views, so spending a little extra for a sea view room is definitely worth it.
The resort has a great water park for kids, but there are also plenty of adults-only areas to relax and unwind. And the quality of the food is incomparable!
For my imaginary vacation from August 8 to 12, I expect to spend $765 per night staying at this resort.
If you’re looking for a budget vacation, the Caribe Deluxe Princess has great reviews at all-inclusive prices that won’t break the bank.
For $197 per couple per night you get a comfortable room with excellent air conditioning and access to a beautiful private white sand beach. The pool bar is the best place to be here, and the extensive cocktail menu is epic!
Of course, prices may change based on season, room type, and room availability, but this remains a great value resort option regardless of the time of year.
Why choose an all-inclusive holiday
I like the occasional all-inclusive holiday, but not everyone shares my enthusiasm. Some travelers find all-inclusive resorts expensive or that they do not provide an authentic travel experience.
I felt the same way before I took the plunge and tried my first all-inclusive vacation. Now I take one every year!
I think there are many good reasons to choose an all-inclusive holiday, especially if you want a carefree holiday at the beach.
First, the economic benefits are worth considering. Although the initial expenses may be higher than a regular hotel, you pay one price, and that includes your room, food, drinks, activities and entertainment.
You can leave your wallet safely in your room and still eat and drink to your heart’s content while you explore the resort.
This is a huge bonus if you’re budget conscious or if (like me) you have kids who are bottomless pits and will happily snack all day until I’m broke!
Another benefit of all-inclusive resorts is the sheer number of activities they offer. From beach yoga to dance lessons, paddle boarding to table tennis, from horse riding to jet skis.
On our most recent all-inclusive vacation, we took a guacamole-making class with the resort’s chef, then enthusiastically threw ourselves into a messy pool foam party.
The verdict?
With an all-inclusive holiday you never have to be bored.
