People travel from all over the world to experience the rich European culture.

Europe’s hotspots can be impossibly busy in the summer months, but there’s a reason everyone wants to visit them.

Think dreamy architecture, towering cathedrals and fantastic cultural locations.

A new study of the global luggage storage provider Slasher has revealed Europe’s most cultural destinations.

Below we have listed the top 4. Which one is your favorite?

4. Milan

Milan ranked as the 4e most cultural destination in Europe and the most cultural place in Italy. Remarkably, Milan scores above Rome in every category within the Slasher survey.

Milan was highly regarded for its film and media sites, comedy and entertainment venues, and parks and recreational spaces.

Some of the best cultural sights not to be missed in Milan include the Duomo di Milano, which is the cathedral of Milan and is considered the most important landmark of the city.

You can also see Da Vinci’s famous mural of The Last Supper in Milan, and explore the Triennale di Milano, a museum of art and design in Milan’s Parco Sempione.

For art lovers, there are few better cities to explore in Europe. Milan deserves a place on your bucket list!

3. Amsterdam

Amsterdam can be famously overcrowded, especially during the summer months, but that doesn’t stop it from happening every 3rd most cultural city in Europe. And with good reason.

Amsterdam has the highest number of live performance spaces of any city in Europe. And there are 94 places of cultural interest per 100,000 inhabitants in the city, which is the 2NL highest in Europe.

Some of the cultural highlights of a trip to Amsterdam include the Rembrandt House, located in a beautiful mansion in the center of the city.

The Anne Frank House is also a fascinating location that provides a great insight into life in the city during the Second World War.

The best way to see Amsterdam, especially if you are short on time, is through the canals.

Amsterdam is one of my favorite European cities because, despite its reputation for debauchery, it is one of the most child-friendly European capitals.

From beautiful city parks to fascinating boat tours and kid-oriented museums, I’ve been visiting Amsterdam since I was a kid and love coming back to explore its beautiful culture with my own kids.

2.Barcelona

The 2NL Europe’s most cultural destination this summer is Barcelona. And it may be an unpopular opinion, but I think it is one of the best times to visit the city.

Barcelona is hot and sticky in the summer. But if you go off the beaten path, it can also be one of the most peaceful times to explore.

Many of the city’s residents leave during the summer months, leaving the streets empty and local shops and restaurants closed.

This means you can only wander the back streets, which is almost unheard of in such a crowded destination.

Park Guell in BarcelonaPark Guell in Barcelona

Some of the best cultural sights to explore in Barcelona, regardless of the time of year, include the vibrant Park Güell, the Picasso Museum and the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art

And it would be impossible to talk about cultural attractions in Barcelona without mentioning Gaudi’s Sagrada Família. This stunningly beautiful basilica will eventually be finished in 2026, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a great place to visit now.

1. Paris

It’s probably no surprise that Paris is Europe’s most popular cultural destination.

Known as the City of Light, Paris has inspired more novels, films and other creative works than I can count.

The French capital is famous for hosting the Olympic Games this summer, but there’s plenty to do if sports aren’t your thing.

Paris is home to the highest number of parks and leisure spaces per 100,000 inhabitants in all of Europe, with a whopping 1,238 green spaces to explore.

And the city also scores highly for the number of live performance spaces.

The city’s most iconic attraction is of course the Eiffel Tower.

But other cultural centers in Paris worth exploring include the Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées, the grandiose Petit Palace and the Hôtel des Invalides. This is a particularly fascinating attraction if you are interested in military history.

My favorite cultural attraction in Paris is the city’s Museum of Modern Art (Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris). The outside of the building is impressive, but it’s the art inside that keeps me coming back again and again.
