Just because summer is coming to an end doesn’t mean your travel plans have to too.
The unbearable crowds are starting to dissipate, temperatures are coming back down to Earth, and best of all, airfares to some of the world’s most incredible destinations have plummeted, giving adventurous travelers on a budget the opportunity of a lifetime.

No matter how long you want your flights to last or what you want to get out of your end-of-season vacation, chances are you’ll find at least one place that will. awaken your wanderlust somewhere in this article.
Bangkok, Thailand
If you’re like me, you probably spent much of the summer sighing at photos of Wat Arun, Wat Phra Kaew, and Grand Palace, wishing you’d seen Bangkok along with the millions of happy travelers who flocked here to the Thai capital in recent months.

However, it turns out that all the waiting and severe FOMO may have been worth it: Airline ticket prices between the US and Bangkok have officially dropped. reached their annual low!
According to Skyscannerround-trip tickets start at just $597 this month (and no, that’s not a typo).

Granted, that price tag only applies to a few specific flights to New York, but ticket prices are being reduced across the board, making it relatively easy for American travelers to fly to the Thai capital and back for less than $1,000 – When you consider I’ll be traveling almost 9,000 miles each way, that’s a bargain!
Seoul, South Korea
Whether it’s the fantastic sights, the fascinating culture, the dreamy 25°C weather or the affordable prices, there’s just something about Seoul at this time of year that travelers can’t get enough of.

And if the premise of Bukchon Hanok Village, Gyeongbokgung Palace and Namsan Park amid the color-changing leaves isn’t enough to make you book a ticket to Seoul ASAP, checking out the current flight tickets might just be the final push that you need.
If you book now, you can find round-trip tickets costing just under $700, and a quick Google search will tell you that this is a deal you don’t come across all that often.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Suppose the idea of a flight of more than 10 hours doesn’t really suit you, but you still want to take advantage of the seasonal price drops – then you should book a flight to Puerto Rico instead.

Take advantage of these last bits of summer sun by lazing on one of San Juan’s many, many beautiful beaches (Escambrón in particular is not to be missed).
Not only are temperatures currently in a perfect range of 24°C to 31°C (75°F to 88°F), but tickets have also hit their annual low, starting at just $70 for a round trip!
Lima, Peru
Speaking of Latin American gems you can visit on a budget, I don’t think Lima gets enough credit for the immersive experience it promises its tourists.

Here you will spend your days strolling along the beautiful Malecón, exploring Plaza Mayor and the Monastery of San Francisco, enjoying the freshest, most juicy ceviche and enjoying the 20°C weather.
And you can do all that very cheaply!
When you start traveling, you can expect to pay between $290 and $500 for a round-trip flight from most airports, which in itself can take a lot of financial pressure off your trip.

Accommodation follows a similar price trend, especially now that the summer rush has calmed down.
An average three-star hotel near the city center costs anywhere from $15 to $40 per night. For example, you can stay at Casa Lima in the historic center of Lima for just a few hours $22 per night!
Considering that most restaurant meals hover around $10 (per person), it’s safe to assume that your daily expenses won’t exceed $100.
Split, Croatia
Planning a budget-friendly European city trip in the fall can be tricky, as prices can actually start to rise, but there is one (wonderful) exception to this rule.

You’ve all heard of Dubrovnik and while, yes, it really is as breathtaking as they say, it can also turn into an overcrowded nightmare at this time of year.
That’s why I’ve always preferred Split when I visit Croatia.
It offers the same incredible views and beachy allure, but with far fewer people and better prices – talk about a win-win!

But if you want to make the most of your Split trip this year, you’ll need to book those tickets quickly – in September you can get there and back for less than $500and believe me, that’s not the case the rest of the year, so if there was ever a time to be spontaneous in your travels, it’s now.
