It’s official: one of the most prestigious events in the tourism sector, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WITTC) Global topwill take place in Rome next year, officials confirmed.
The big event, last organized in Europe five years ago gathers industry leaders, government officials and a range of international experts to discuss the latest trends and pressing issues in the travel and tourism sector.
But more than just an academic event, this global summit serves as a platform for networking and policy development, with a strong focus on promoting sustainable tourism.
At the end of the successful 2024 Summit in PerthWestern Australia WTTC President & CEO Julia Simpson shared exciting news for Europe: the event will take place return to the Old Continent in 2025.
“The success of our Global Summit 2024 is a testament to the continued appeal and innovation within the travel and tourism sector,” said Simpson. “I would like to express my thanks to the team at Tourism Western Australia for all their work to make this summit a reality. History shows that all roads lead to Rome, and in 2025 that will certainly be true as we move towards a global city steeped in history yet vibrantly forward-looking.”
This time, the Italian Ministry of Tourism will play a key role in organizing the prestigious Global Summit 2025.
The organizers have not yet announced many details about the keynote speakers and the topics to be discussed. But considering that in 2019, former US President Barack Obama appeared, it is expected that prominent international figures will also accept the invitation.
