Do you know what’s great about Thailand? You can pack light all year round!
As temperatures continue to drop from now until New Year’s Eve, one of Thailand’s trendiest beach destinations is gearing up for a busy winter season.
Of Thaiger Reporting an expected 60% increase in visitors, you could see Phuket in the rearview mirror Krabi coming in hot!
With over 100 breathtakingly beautiful islands and insanely cheap resorts, the best choice to stretch your travel budget while relaxing in paradise is none other than the picture-postcard shores of Krabi.
Imagine guzzling down hearty street food at the beach with a cold beer in hand, while everyone at home is clearing the driveway and Christmas music is blaring maniacally on an endless loop – what sounds better?
You know what to do this winter…book the trip!
Cancun Who?! The long flight is worth the resort savings!
We all know Americans’ favorite international beach destination: the ever-so-popular coastline of Mexico’s Shining Star.
While Cancun is much easier to get to for your beach resort needs, it’s more than worth traveling the world for a more cultural adventure with eye-watering savings in store.
Krabi is a province on the west coast of Thailand known for its boundless nature, including island hopping, lush jungles and countless extraordinary beaches.
Even years ago, people thought I was crazy for visiting Thailand without making a stop in Krabi, and it’s only getting more popular by the year.
One of the main reasons is the region’s insane affordability, which sometimes doesn’t even seem possible.
You know, 5 star resorts under $70, 4 star resorts under $60… the list goes on…
If you’re really interested in booking a trip to Krabi, check out the dates for a week-long stay in December; you’re almost guaranteed to find jaw-dropping deals.
I picked something out for you, because even though my ex hates me, I’m actually a nice guy!
The best overall deal this winter in my opinion Apple A Day Resort Krabi from $58, booked directly through the hotel.
Just now steps from the beach and home of A red swimming poolit is truly unique and one of the best bang for your buck!
Visit Krabi’s Paradise Beach and go Island hopping for days
While there is certainly no shortage of authentic culture, with fun night markets and fascinating temples, the majority of tourists come here for one thing: to experience endless paradise beaches.
I can tell you: there is plenty to choose from. Let’s start with the coast and then go to sea…
Krabi is home to some of the most photogenic beaches in the world, and while the secret is out, Krabi’s crowds don’t keep Phuket in check.
Don’t you believe me? Phuket was recently declared the ‘most crowded destination‘on the planet.
Nang Beach, Railay Beach and Phra Nang Beach are among the top 3 for wonderful beach days and beautiful photo opportunities.
Just don’t expect to have the place all to yourself (sharing is caring, kids!).
However, Railay is only accessible by boat, which, as promised, takes us to the beautiful tropical islands of Krabi.
Extensive ferries take you across crystal clear waters to the many islands in the region including Bamboo Island, Chicken Island, Koh Hong and the famous Phi Phi Islands.
Which is the best? It’s hard to say. According to TripAdvisorTravelers love Hong Island most for its mesmerizing limestone walls, shimmering waters and soft sands.
Increased connectivity this winter
Together, several airlines and Krabi International Airport have increased the number of flights for the winter.
According to the Department of Airports (DOA), more than 160 domestic flights and 60 international flights will connect to Krabi, making this slice of paradise easier to reach for an unforgettable escape.
Expecting an increase, systems have been implemented to reduce congestion at airports, such as security checkpoints and check-in counters.
But if there’s one important piece of information every traveler should have, it’s this:
All U.S. travelers now require a travel authorization to visit Thailand. Read all about it here.
