Metallics took center stage last week and dazzled us with their regal splendor. On the red carpet, dresses adorned with crystals and sequins shimmered brilliantly, capturing the festive spirit of the season in all its glory. It was a clear signal that the Christmas spirit is in full swing, and the stars embraced it wholeheartedly. The season’s extravagance was further enhanced by faux fur embellishments, proving that the mafia woman aesthetic still has a firm hold on fashion.
The looks
At the Mufasa: The Lion King premiere, Da’Vine Joy Randolph captivated the audience in a Bishme Cromartie dress with a sequined bodice and a dropped waist with ruching. Her all-black ensemble effortlessly combined the contrasting textures of sequins and silk, resulting in a look that was both opulent and striking. In the same way to draw attention to the event, Beyonce brought her signature glittering energy to the red carpet. She dazzled in a bejeweled strapless Balmain gown from the brand’s collaboration The Lion Kingdecorated with mirror decorations that caught every light. To complete the look, she paired the dress with sleek black ankle-strap pumps and gold earrings, all impeccably styled by Shiona Turini.
In the meantime, Ciara also embraced the fur trend, with a sexy leather blazer dress, accessorized with statement Paris Texas furry stiletto boots. It’s safe to say that fur has firmly established itself as the life of the party this season.
Further at the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 premiere in London, Tika Sumpter dazzled in a metallic Nedret Taciroglu dress adorned with 3D metal appliqués. The gown, with its foil-like sheen, turned heads and stood out from the crowd. Complemented with a sleek ponytail, the dress remained the undeniable star of the show. In the same way, Kelly Rowland embraced the sparkle agenda at Critics Choice’s 7th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema and Television, where she dazzled in a gold sequined Nadine Merabi jumpsuit. ‘Tis indeed the season to shine, let your hair down and end the year in style.
