You don’t need me to tell you that the US is a great place to travel.
Beautiful cities, diverse landscapes and world-class food all mean you can have an incredible travel experience without dusting off your passport.
However, with 50 states and more than 100,000 cities and towns to choose from, deciding where to go can be a challenge.
To make it a bit easier, Airbnb has released a list of the 25 best places to visit in 2025. Here are the top 5 US destinations that made the cut!
Green Bay, Wisconsin
According to data from Airbnb, some destinations in the US are booming in popularity thanks to major events such as sports tournaments, concerts and cultural festivals.
Green Bay is one of those destinations.
It is on the list of top destinations in the US thanks to the abundance of football fanatics hoping to watch the draft, which is considered one of the biggest events in American sports.
But Green Bay is more than just the football team. Visit the city’s botanical garden or Bay Beach amusement park. This is an old-fashioned fair located right on the coast.
Admission is completely free, and ride tickets cost only 25 centswhere most rides require 1 or 2 tickets. This means that this is also a wonderfully affordable day out for the whole family.
Charleston, South Carolina
Charleston is a fascinating destination with a rich history. Historical monuments, fascinating architecture and quaint cobbled streets characterize this iconic city.
Charleston has something for everyone. If you want to evoke Old South, the architecture and warm welcome here will do that immediately. But due to its location on the coast, you can also enjoy a traditional beach holiday here.
Explore the Charleston City Market or stroll through the Waterfront Park.
If you’re interested in history, a can’t-miss attraction is Fort Sumter National Monument. This is located in the middle of Charleston Harbor and is only accessible by ferry.
You can only book this with Fort Sumter Tours, and tickets cost $37 per person.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Baton Rouge is another destination on the list for an iconic event taking place in 2025.
The 38th annual Krewe of Southdowns Parade will take place on Friday, February 28.
This is an exciting yet family-friendly Mardi Gras event where you can experience fun floats, music and dancers, and the excitement of the traditional flambeaux torchbearers.
But Baton Rouge is the capital of the state of Louisiana and has plenty to offer no matter when you visit.
Don’t miss the castle-like Old Louisiana State Capitol, which has been converted into a museum and National Historic Landmark, or the Louisiana State Art and Science Museum.
If you love museums, you’ll think you’ll be spoiled for choice here!
As an added bonus, if you’re traveling on a budget, you’ll get access to the Louisiana’s old Capitol building and museum is completely free.
Houston, Texas
Sports fans increase interest in Houston, especially in May when the famous baseball team plays against Tampa Bay.
However, the city also attracts the interest of performing and visual arts enthusiasts, and Houston has attractions for everyone.
A special highlight is the Space Center Houston. This is a NASA visitors center with more than 400 things visitors can see and do inside. General admission tickets cost $29.95 per adult, with additional charges for Mission Control Tour tickets.
Other must-see attractions in the city include the historic district, which is home to a beautiful selection of 19th-century architecture and a host of upscale restaurants.
According to AirBnb, Houston is the most desired city destination for 2025.
