Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka will miss a significant part of the season after suffering a hamstring injury during the Gunners’ 5-1 win over Crystal Palace. Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that the 23-year-old England international will be absent “many weeks” after the setback, which saw him leave Selhurst Park on crutches. Saka, who has been crucial for Arsenal this season with nine goals and 13 assists in 24 appearances, was described as “stripped” after learning the severity of the injury. Arteta acknowledged that the busy schedule could have contributed to this, given Saka’s heavy workload over the past three seasons.
Saka’s absence poses a major challenge for Arsenal, with manager Mikel Arteta considering how to adapt the squad. “It doesn’t look good,” Arteta said about Saka’s injury. The Gunners have faced challenges without a captain before Martin Odegaard. Their next match is against Ipswich Town in the Emirates on December 27, and Arteta will be hoping the squad will strengthen in Saka’s absence.
