Yeeeehaw to Ni-Hao!
For the first time in history, non-stop flights will start from Texas all the way to Taiwan!
Cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco have monopolized travel between the United States and Asia for decades, because the West Coast serves as a gateway to the East and also because of historical ties (San Francisco has the highest percentage of Chinese descendants of any major American city ) .
This will change from next year, if Dallas/Fort Worth will operate nonstop flights from Taiwanbringing southern US travelers closer to the Asian gem:
Fly non-stop from Texas to Taiwan
As confirmed by Clay Sun, the president of EVA Air, a Taiwan-based airline, new flights from Taiwan to Texas will start on November 3, 2025, with five flights per week between their hub Taipei-Tayouan and Dallas.
Taipei Tayouan International (TPE) serves Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, as well as Tayouan City, and the marks a first in aviation history for Dallas, which has never had nonstop connections to this fast-growing Asian destination.
According to the Easy flying reportThe route is likely to be operated by EVA’s Boeing 787-9, although this is yet to be confirmed.
Based on estimates from Dr. James Pearson, Simple Flying’s Route Analyst, only 24,000 passengers traveled between Dallas and Taipei between July 2023 and July 2024, making this a ‘interesting’ choice for EVA.
It’s certainly not the busiest route, but it is one with potential, as Dallas is the third busiest airport in the world by passenger volume alone.
Pearson also reiterates that Taipei is a major transit hub, with passengers able to stop over in Taiwan en route to a number of Asian hotspots, including Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Manila in the Philippines and Chinese-controlled Hong Kong.
No timetables have been announced so far.
Why visit Taiwan in 2025?

If you’re looking for something unique to make your trip to Taipei unforgettable, make sure you check out the scenic gondola ride along the winding canals at the foot of Maokong Mountain and enjoy breathtaking views of the city’s innovative skyline at the very top.
Away from the chaos of Taipei, escape into nature in Taroko Gorge, an extremely beautiful one natural formation with a flowing river of clear turquoise water bordered by towering marble cliffs, or the coastal area of Kenting National Park, lined with white sandy beaches and coral reefs.
If you are a culture lover, Laid-back Jiufen, a mountain town just east of the capital, has an old town crisscrossed by narrow paths and rows of teahouses, although Taiwan’s main cultural destination is Tainan:
It is the oldest town on the island and is known for its… historic center full of templeswhich essentially functions as an open-air museum, and the monumental Anping Fort, home to the infamous Grand Mazu and Confucius Temples.
