Ariana Simone, left, and Chauncie Dumbledore had a certain coolness about them while walking past Canal Street in Manhattan on a Sunday in January. She wore shades of lavender, blue, orange and green and brought thinking of the palette of a spring day, as well as the colors of the New York Knicks.
Mrs. Simone, 26, a model and yoga instructor, and Mr. Parkement, 30, a wellness coach, went from the happier supermarket market in Soho to the nearby APC store when I saw them arm in arm from behind. When asked if they wore something sentimental, Mr. Parchment is a jacket to reveal what he said that a gym shirt from the 70s was that he bought in the Quality Mending Co., a vintage store in the center of Manhattan about ten years ago.
He described the age of the shirt as a large part of his attraction. That it has been around for decades, he said, “speaks to the quality, to the unique and to the story.”
