Why you should circumvent DublinDiscover more of Ireland: Start with GalwayGalway’s spring festivals, including a legendary celebration of St. PattySubscribe to our latest messages

Did you know that Dublin is not only one of the most expensive cities in Ireland, but also one of Europe?

That’s right.

Traveling through this historic city can cost more than the horde of the gold of a gnome, but that is one of the several reasons why travelers have discovered another lively city along the coast with timeless pubs, amazing castles and neighboring storybook cities.

Last year we reported that Summertime was the season in travelers, but the spring of 2025 is even more tempting with nice festivals that fill the calendar from March to May.

Better yet, Americans can fly non -stop to Shannon, where it reaches Galway Is less than an hour drive.

Why you should circumvent Dublin

Don’t get me wrong, Dublin is a great city.

The problem with visiting this year is that there are simply many more feasible options for your wallet.

Ryanair, based in Dublin, is demonstrably the most popular Airline Budget in Europe, and even their flights from/to Dublin appear to be towering.

This is largely partly due to a passenger cap that is placed at the most important airport of Dublin, so that typical predictability of supply and demand is a bit crazy.

Travelers are even putting it on Dublin, because the number of tourism is ‘flat’, according to a New report.

The reduction of the available seats are driven airline tickets in some cases, although I have seen one Aer Lingus Deals difficult to leave if you have to visit Dublin soon.

That said, travelers (including Americans like me said) can fly non-stop to Shannon, a much smaller airport, but just as handy when they venture in this less tourist side of Ireland.

United launched a new flight from Newark and New York last year and will be restored this spring together with a brand new Delta -Route launches May 2025.

Discover more of Ireland: Start with Galway

Galway may not be an understanding, but it has all Irish charm of Dublin Plus phenomenal coastlines.

Keep in mind that Ireland needs a little to warm up from the winter, but you will see many sunny days in the spring.

That said, packing a light jacket is recommended for the cold coastal breeze and the Nippy night in the city.

Galway is on the opposite coast of Dublin and beaches are frankly so much nicer on this side and hug the picturesque river corrupt, it is no wonder why so many visitors claim to keep the nature of Galway.

Galway is even the home base Blue Flag-certified beachesWhich means they are some of the most pristine beaches in the world.

There are also several amazing islands, including the local legend Inis Morjust off the coast and easily accessible ferryboat.

But Galway is not just a beach outing; It is a sensation to wander around in the lively streets of this less well -known city and doll in lively bars with local musicians or quieter vague pubs in a more traditional sense.

Whatever you do, don’t skip pint in Galway’s oldest pub, Tigh Neighain’shave been the test of time since 1894.

In addition to Dublin’s Price Conundrum, the fun festivals of Galway will undoubtedly make Ireland this spring most seductive city To visit this spring.

What looks like an endless festive season, tourists will not have any problems to age time with so many events to choose from, but there are 3 to circle on your agenda:

  • Softain after Gaeilge (the world’s greatest Irish language festival) – 1 – 17 March
  • St. Patrick’s Day Festival -15 —17 March
  • Galway Food Festival-1-31 May

As far as St. Patty’s, the main parade, is the stuff of legends, passing the almost multiple age -old Hardiman Hotel on Eyre Square, which has its own pub with live concerts every weekend.

After the Shenanigans have been demolished and you have to relax, view the idyllic Storybook Towns of Cong and Clonbur nearby.
