“Spring break” means many different things for many different people, but if there is one common denominator, it is certainly Florida.
The Sunshine State offers visitors some of the most renowned cities and coastlines in the country and casts a large shade over what many holiday makers miss.

One of those cities is TampaA city that falls in the ‘underestimated’ category together with places such as Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale.
Because most tourists in Florida set their sights for that one amusement park in Orlando and the lifestyle with Highfalutin live in Miami, it could be claimed that Tampa also deserves a chair at the table.
Offering an unexpected range of cultural pleasures, easy access to some of the most pristine beaches in America and cheap flights to get here, it’s time to give tampa as one of the best cities in Florida to visit.
Tampa: a lively city with surprising cultural

Tampa is one of those cities where, if you have not been here, it is easy to label incorrectly. Yes, yes, I can bear witness to the, say, patriotic displays, hanging hanging and ashamed of at least 1 of the 4 boats that seemed to look past tampas apparently endless waterways.
But the old saying of “Never Judge a Book by Its Cover” is perfectly applicable here. If you were to judge tampa exclusively on cheesy bare eagle-evaluated hats and cut sleeves, then you will miss everything that this underrated city has to offer, starting with the unexpected culture, art and flavors of Ybor City.
You may think that Miami’s little Havana is the only destination for a fascinating look in Cuban culture, but Tampa’s Ybor City has something to say about that.

You will find enough Cuban cafés to raise the day with sensational coffee selections. Conversely, after sunset you will find a lively nightlife with countless bars and clubs to choose from, but make sure you take a famous grabbing Cuban Sandwich somewhere in between.
Of course it would not be a real Cuban neighborhood without cigar bars to illuminate a stogie or two.
Although not so culturally necessarily, the center of Tampa is a must visit for beautiful walks and bike rides, especially along the picturesque Riverwalk districtthat houses some of the best rated attractions of the city, such as:
- Tampa Museum of Art
- Florida Museum of Photographic Arts
- Tampa Bay History Center
Speaking of history, you have to check out West Tampa Also – the oldest district in the city, dating from 1800 and still retaining a strong Latin influence. Needless to say, it is best to get hungry!
Sugar sand and clear water: An entrance gate to the best beaches in America

If you are unemployed at the start of the agenda that waits to see which beach is best crowned to visit, you will waste your time.
I can tell you with certainty which beaches are the best, because every year it seems to be on a few cities in southwestern Florida who drive it out for the title “America’s Best Beach”.
That would be Clearwater and Siesta Key, each of which is the best year to year. The trophy went to the ladder this time, at least according to Tripadvisor.
So that means that it is certainly clear water in 2026. No matter how you cut it, you can’t go wrong either.
Both offer unspoilt white sand, clear turquoise waters and large hotels. Clearwater, however, is much closer to Tampa, because Siesta Key drive for about an hour without traffic.

While the spring break draws all kinds of crowds throughout Florida, there is one hidden gem that easily became my favorite in the region that is a certain gamble to avoid noisy university resources and ugly retired ensembles.
Do not skip nokomis, another beach town with white sand, but one that flies well under the radar.
5 More hidden gems beaches to view:
- Indian Rocks Beach
- Redington Beach
- Madeira Beach
- Fort de Soto
- Coquina Beach
Score cheap flights to one of the top airports in America

Often it seems that you have to do forks all over your salary to reach paradise, but not here.
According to a new reportAverage flights to Tampa is alone $ 217 ReturnMaking it almost impossible to ignore as a top spring.
Better yet, Tampa International Airport (TPA) has been declared One of the top 10 airports in the nation by USA Today.
That is not your only option either. You can fly to neighboring St. Pete or a few other coastal cities in the area, such as Sarasota, Punta Gorda and Fort Myers.
If you fly to St. Pete, do not make the mistake of paying too much for an Uber or taxi. The airports new shuttle Will take you directly to Clearwater for just $ 8!
