In the decades since the first Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival took place in 1999 in South California, the cultural footprint has grown to include much more than music. This year’s event, which started during the weekend, reflected that evolution: it was a day -long concert, but also a “white lotus” reun, a political meeting and, as in recent years, a fashion spectacle.
Sets by Jennie and Lisa, the Blackpink -members played solo acts and Lady Gaga let people buzz about the outfits of the singers almost as much as their musical performances.
