They say that the best coast is the west coast, so what makes the east coast … the least coast?
Anywho, when you introduce the west coast, it is probably the first image that flashed before your mind is a snapshot of the unspoilt coasts of the Golden State, such as Santa Cruz, countless relaxed beach cities from San Diego to Orange County, and famous Malibu of celebrities, what is left).

Roughly 50 miles south of Los Angeles and 80 miles north of San Diego is the Ritzy Coast Outing of Newport Beach, a shamelessly flashy but unpretentious place that everyone welcomes or chooses to stay for a while.
Newport Beach, with a view of some of the most beautiful coastlines and chic resorts in South California, has received the attention of the attention Travel + Leisurethis year are named the best summer outing in California.
The flashy side of Newport Beach
There is no doubt that Newport Beach is luxurious, hence my aforementioned comment about passing.

This is not the best place for budget travelers, unless you have a smelly surfer hippie, because there is certainly that audience.
But for most visitors to Newport, they are here to enjoy the wealth of this lively coastal community whether the good dinner is 21 Oceanfront Or glamorous resorts on the ocean such as the resort on Pelican Hill, that Whole Foods “whole salary” reputation gives a run for his money (and yours).
There are more affordable staying, but Newport Beach can best be experienced as a place to pamper yourself, whether it is a world -class spa as you will find a luxury stay Balboa Bay ResortBut still with a fraction of the price.

Travel + leisure time emphasized the resort on Pelican Hill as one of the top enclosures of Newport, but Pendry Newport Beach absolutely takes on the cake while it was crowned Best US Hotel in 2024 For the handy location on one of the best sales arguments in Newport, Fashion Island, a luxury shopping center where I happen to get a snack at one of my favorite hamburgers, Hopdoddy Burger Bar.
But the real draw is the refined elegance of Pendry and the impressive series of facilities, including a high-end spa with modern treatments such as cryotherapy.
Newport Beach’s Chill Side
Not everyone will believe that a city with such a lush lifestyle would not be pretentious, but that has never been my experience.

I have visited countless times and the uppity-in-the-air vibes did not exist of what I experienced as a tourist, and I have been in some of the most prestigious destinations in California, such as Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Beverly Hills, La Jolla, Palm Springs … the list goes on …
It is impossible to ignore the wealth of Newport, because there are mansions along the coast and yachts along the harbor along the harbor, but this beautiful beach city also has a cold side, much more reflected from typical social as represented in the films.
You know, Frosted Tip Surfer Bros, perfectly sculpted lifeguards and skaters who squirt weird sentences, only they understand.

In addition to the glitter and glamor, there is a hospitable atmosphere where someone with a surfboard or a beach towel or sipping at a local brew feels at home, and you never know if the person is next to your mega rich or a colleague tourist who enjoys one of the most beautiful beach cities of Socal.
The best beaches in Newport Beach to visit
You could claim that you cannot go wrong to visit every beach from Coronado to Santa Barbara, especially because the more popular neighbor of Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, is just a stone’s throw away.
But there is a reason why so many luxury hotels are planning carrots overlooking the unspoilt coast of Newport.

According to TripadvisorThese are the top 5 beaches in Newport Beach:
- Newport Beach (make sure you walk the pier!)
- Corona del Mar State Beach (the best for volleyball)
- The Wedge (the best for surfing)
- Little Corona Beach (the best for diving)
- Marina Park (the best for picnics)
For what it is worth, my favorite (Crystal Cove State Park) was not mentioned. Tucked away from striking mansions and surfer-brittle, Travel + Leisure-Good-approved Crystal Cove State Park offers a quiet escape with a maze of hiking trails and fewer decorated beaches that I say are the best at sunset.
