The Mediterranean Sea covers a considerable part of our planet.
This vast region can mean many different things for many different people, but if there is one common denominator, it is that the Med is the ultimate place to melt your stress away.
Whether it is Greece, Turkiye or breathtaking Italian islands, not to mention a wealth of lesser-known paradises in between, travelers search wide and wide in the Mediterranean coasts for the photo-perfect beach day, and rightly so.

But there is one country that slowly wins steam, such as a classic locomotive and that is the beautiful country of Montenegro, which has not only become a digital nomad harbor for its widespread affordability and welcome locals, but an enormous attraction as an alternative to more popular destinations without having the stunning beauty and a relaxed lifestyle that we can only have a relaxed lifestyle.
The proof could not be clearer: the latter report Shows Montenegro’s Ritzy Resort Town, located between the quiet waters of the bay of Kotor and backgrounds in the postcard.
Time to pack your bags!
Tivat: Montenegro’s Resort Loaded Dreamcape

Ever heard of Tivat? Probably not unless you are a globetrotting travel junkie like us at Travel Off Path.
But there is no doubt that Tivat crawls into the shadow of his trendy neighbor Albania as one of the most sought after vacation spots in the Balkans.
Tivat is the definition of a relaxed holiday. Sit by the sea with sensational eats a glass of cheap local wine, relax the swimming poolside in a fantastic resort or venture to one of the many beautiful beaches along the Adriatic Sea in the after dispensation.
Of course the bay of Kotor is also the home of many beaches, but going a little further to the coast offers a more unspoilt environment, because some beaches of the bay can be a bit rocky to enjoy a nice dive.

If I was that I booked a journey, I would have done that Plavi Horizonti Circled in red as my go-to-spot for sun-drenched kisses.
It doesn’t matter where you are in or around Tivat, the atmosphere is really dreamy because the cityscape is sandwiched between lively blue waters and stunning mountains.
Is Tivat affordable?
Perhaps the best of everything, if you are going to venture into the Balkans all the time, it is safe to say that the daily prices are worth the trip.
Although Montenegro has seen an increase in flights throughout Europe, it is still enough to see inflated costs, like many other remarkable outings.

Tivat is perhaps the flashest city of Montenegro. As such, to get the full TIVAT experience, a large stay on the water is a must.
Food, wine, excursions and transit are all budget -friendly, but you want to plan ahead with booking a resort.
One of the cheapest in the region is a well -known name at home: Waikiki Beach Resort for $ 182 this summer, but no promises lei’d.
Be sure to view the spacious apartments and arrive early to score a bar stool in their own beach bar with a wide menu with fresh food and handmade cocktails.

For what it is worth, Waikiki is at the top of the rankings for the best 2025 hotels from Tivat. There are also a handful of other chic options for those among us with thicker portfolios (certainly not me):
- Royal Blue Resort & Residences
- Porto Montenegro Residences
- Rosic Apartments
How to get here
One thing we have skipped so far is the lively marina of Tivat, which often serves as a cruise port as the most important method to get here with name brand cruises such as Ponant, Silversea and Seabourn.

This may not call a bell like Disney and Carnival, so they are best served for Americans looking for a full European adventure.
However, as mentioned earlier, it is actually air traffic that sees a huge peak. No, there are no non -stops for the US, but the summer is made for adventure!
The small airport of Tivat is expected to serve 1.3 million passengers in 2025, which means that it is easy to connect.
Americans can jump directly from the following hubs, easily reach Tivat with just one stopover:
- Belgrade
- Istanbul
- Berlin
- Oslo
- Copenhagen
- Paris (ORY)
- Barcelona
- Brussels

Just know Many of the Tivat escape routes are seasonal. Otherwise you want to fly to Montenegro’s capital Podgorica, which is largely considered a pass-through city.
