Say goodbye to Lake Tahoe, Big Bear and Bakkakt National Parks this summer and say Hello to the Alpine Hideaways of California for a quiet holiday between the untouched landscapes of the golden state.
With the exception of a handful of popular Lake cities, most summer holidays clearly look for the paradisal coast of San Diego to the border with Oregon.

If you are looking for a retreat on the water, you do not have to spend your entire salary on a Ritzy Strand Resort when cozy accommodations and “Glamping” land offer wallet-friendly rates and serene nature.
Image on the lake on the lake, breweries, rustic log cabins and a range of exciting activities to allow your adrenaline to pump in cities that you probably didn’t know existed.
These 3 less well -known Lake Towns are the ultimate summer hidays from California:
Lake Cuyamaca
Do you want to know where San Diego will escape from the hordes of Arizonians and Nevadans this time of the year?

Well, it used to be the aforementioned Big Bear, but the secret has long been out, just like Lake Havasu from Arizona, in a classic switcheroo.
Nowadays it is Lake Cuyamaca, the favorite card city of a local population, about an hour east of San Diego nestled in the Cuyamaca Mountains, where you freely fish, kayak and walk in open space between sparkling water and nature so quiet that you could hear a pinecone falling.
While you are mesmerized by the picturesque, winding roads of CA-79, you flash and you will miss Lake Cuyamaca. At any time, more trout and Bluegill can be stored than the actual citizens who live here.

This idyllic Lake Town is a shelter of textbook. For years, the city’s conversation is called the Pub on the Meer, rightly The pub at Lake Cuyamaca After an intense brainstorming sesh.
Jokes aside, it is a great place to hang around and enjoy the peaceful landscape during the day or to Stargaze at night.
You can also Book a cozy hut In the street or choose to make your basis in the Julian, a rustic rural development loaded with old inns and phenomenal cake shops, the Claim of the city on fame.
NOTE: Swimming or jet skiing all year round is allowed in Lake Cuyamaca.
June Lake

What a better way to start the summer than a trip to June More? Some would claim that it is more beautiful than Tahoe!
I mean, Lake Tahoe does not hold the name of the “Switzerland of California“Is it?
This Lakeside Mountain Village is one of the most beautiful destinations in California, but does not have any flashy casinos or resorts of the name fire, so it flies under the radar.
Moreover, it is a bit of a trek to reach. The Tioga Pass of Yosemite National Park is located outside the Tioga Pass of Yosemite, is the nearest Mammoet airport with limited flights, so that June Lake actually makes a great road trip destination, because you don’t have to keep a factor in icy roads outside the ski season.
You will find a postcard-worthy Alpine Lake ideal for fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding and yes, even Swimming is allowed.

Unlike Cuyamaca, there are more than cozy huts to choose from. My choice would undoubtedly be the best rated Double Eagle Resort & Spa (Emphasis on ‘spa, amirite?).
Double Eagle offers standard rooms, huts with 2 bedrooms and even a house with 4 bedrooms for the ultimate outing.
Make sure you take a local brew June Lake Brewing And circle your agenda for the beginning of September to rock out June Lake Jam Fest, A mini-wood stock that celebrates ‘a decade of music in a magical place’.
In other words, pack your best tie-dye tee.
Green Valley Lake

Ever been to LA? Well, despite a decrease in tourism, Angelenos still needs a break from their headache-inducing traffic jams and surprising summer heat.
Secret Los Angeles knows exactly the place, which makes up a low-profile hiding place as the perfect victim to the more popular multi-cities in California.
Green Valley Lake Is 7,000 feet high, tucked away in the stunning San Bernardino mountains such as Big Bear, but the difference is that nobody except local South Californians seems to know that it exists.
Van La (assuming that you are not in a wood frame from the striker) is only an hour and a half away, making it not only easily accessible to LA, but also Orange County and San Diego.

Here you discover picturesque beaches and quiet waters for swimming, fishing, or you can rent a kayak, paddle boat.
Despite the off-the-grid feeling, there is a surprising number of community events in the store this summer:
- June 14: Middle summer faire in the garden
- July 4: Annual parade with music, suppliers and delicious barbecue
- July 26: Summerfaire in the garden
- August 16: Annual Woodstock Party
- August 30 to September 1: Rummage Sale in the Garden
But if you miss it Black Dog Social Club & Shoppe Always has something happening with free live music every weekend.
