Summer may be over, but travel isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
At least that’s what the experts at the American Automobile Association say (AAA) revealed in their Fall travel trends report – both domestic and internationally travel is on the rise.
And I don’t know about you, but I’ve always found that the cozy atmosphere of the season fits perfectly with something quieter, think of a road trip or a short and cozy getaway somewhere close to home.
That’s why today we’re diving into the 5 most popular cities to visit here in the US this fall, so if you’re missing some inspiration, consider it found!
5. Las Vegas, Nevada
We can use as many trendy, underrated gems as we want; there are just some places that never go out of style.
And there is no better example of that Vegas.
In 2024 the city still exists one of the country’s biggest attractionswhich promises endless possibilities for outdoor adventures, exceptional dining experiences and of course a legendary entertainment scene.
With temperatures that are warm yet comfortable (think mid-60s to mid-80s), fall in Vegas is the perfect time to go hiking in Red Rock Canyon or stroll around the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens – you know well, to get fully in touch with the local flora (and take some incredible photos while you’re at it).
And yes, autumn show calendar is as exciting as you’d expect, featuring some of the biggest names in the music industry today, including (but not limited to): Adele, Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, Maroon 5, Santana and Sania Twain.
4. Denver, CO
If breathtaking natural views and a more classic fall experience is what you’re looking for, you can’t go wrong with that Denver.
The gem of Colorado not only serves as a gateway to the Rocky Mountains, where you’ll likely find some of the most postcard-worthy autumn views in the entire US, but also offers everything you need to get there. perfect city trip this time of year.
Great craft beer and even better food? Bill.

3. Seattle, Washington
While the hub in Washington has now fallen a few places in the rankings temperatures have started to coolthe status of one of the most visitable cities in the country remains unchanged.
While a trip here can be quite pricey, Seattle has so much to offer travelers, most of us can agree the splurge is worth it.
I’ll tell you right off the bat that you can expect some of the city’s famous drizzle.
Notice my word choice: Although it rains quite a bit here in Seattle, the showers are usually so sparse that they don’t affect your travel plans at all – they just add a layer of cozy, autumnal bliss to your journey.
And when you combine that with the view of the Washington Park Arboretum, the sharp coffee smell coming from all the independent cafes in town, and the authentic feel of Pike Place Market, you get the ultimate fall experience.
2. Boston, Massachusetts
This next one was a bit of a wild card, as Boston doesn’t often appear on these types of lists, and even when it does, it’s usually touted as a winter hub.
But with how safe, charming and steeped in history the city is, I’m glad to see that Americans are giving it the attention it deserves even during this shoulder season.
This is hands down the perfect time to take a sightseeing tour of the Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, and Beacon Hill (you can even book one of these boat trips that paint the city from a different perspective), so if I were you, I would start planning something as soon as possible.
1. Orlando, Florida
Sunshine and the promise of a great time is hard to resist no matter the time of year, which is exactly why we can’t get enough of Orlando, even now that summer is officially over.
But if you ask me, fall is actually a much better time to visit the iconic Florida city, and it seems like a lot of people have noticed.
The weather, while warmer than most other places, is still mild enough to walk around without having to stop every two seconds for a water break. The the crowds have decreased considerablyand Magic Kingdom’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a must for any Disney lover.
