Punta Cana is not old news due to a piece of the imagination. In fact, it was recently reported that the Dominican Republic will continue with a record fracture, mainly supported by the renowned Resort City.
Despite the eternal increase year after year, De DR is investing further than Puta Cana’s Pizzazz, deeper in unknown territory, it seems for holidaymakers.
We at Travel Off Path reported on countless resorts, unspoilt beaches and hidden gems spread over this paradise land, but it is quite possible that you have never heard of the next trio that is aimed at the next 3 holiday hotspots of the Dominican Republic.

3) Bayahibe-Dominiscus: A resort city in the making
Just like Mexico’s Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo (which I just spelled correctly during the first attempt), and Bayahibe-Dominic (which I did not Games correct with the first attempt), this paradisal duo has been merged as one destination, even though it is two neighboring cities along the southern Caribbean coast of the country.
Weekly travel reported This week how this lesser -known area is intended to become the new powerhouse destination of the DR, nested between La Romana and Punta Cana, and north of my personal favorite Dominican outing, Isla Saona.
Bayahibe-Dominicus is the real estate of the Prime textbook along less dried coasts with easy access between large airports in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.
There are already resorts here, but some names are not so well -known with Americans, such as Iberostar, who have just undergone an extensive renovation to all 528 rooms in the hope of luring more tourists.

Bayahibe-Dominicus offers visitors a much more relaxed experience, more connected to nature and animals in the wild, and much fewer footprints in the sand.
2) Cabo Rojo: New Airport will put the Pedernales region on the map
I would not like to be in the PR team of Pedernales, because they have a bit convincing to hug at the border of Haiti.
But the Dominican government swears by its safety and heavy investments to not only make the city of Pedernales the next ‘IT’ destination of the country, but also the surrounding area.
Cabo Rojo is the name that you see most of the interwebs floating. We were even one of the first to break news at the new airport of Cabo Rojo who launched towards the end of the year.
Since then, local publication CDN reported 10,000 hotel rooms are also in the making, as well as new housing developments and port infrastructure.
There will be a heavy focus on sustainable tourism as soon as the new Mega project of Cabo Rojo is rolling, but it certainly still has a long way to go, although it is already hyped as the “Cancun” of the Dominican with the next 6 hotels that plant for this here:
- Hilton
- Marriott International
- Iberostar group
- Sun sun
- Carism Hotels & Resort
- Amresorts (a Hyatt brand)
The large dogs of the industry will certainly opt for what a dedicated “hotel zone” will be that serves as a stand -alone enclave that drones and forces will patrolled heavily to rest unrest over Haiti.
1) Miches: Punta Cana’s Top Alternative Wait
Located on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic, a distant journey of Punta Cana, Miches has Hyped For years, and it seems to be ready for the big stage.
Just ask Tyler, our editor -in -chief, who had the pleasure of visiting Viva Miches by Wyndham and had fantastic!
Who wouldn’t? This resort (and its counterparts) offers crystal clear waters and public -free beaches, something you can’t say about Punta Cana this time of the year.
There are kilometers of what resembles untouched coasts, and even more surprising natural attractions that you would not expect, such as Los Haitises National Park Close by, where you can find old Taino caves with rock drawings and boat trips that cross lush mangrove forests.
Although no longer the last boundary of the Tourism of the Dominican Republic, a large part of the area can mislead you by thinking that it is, with its remote location and lack of crowds.
There is demonstrably no better time to visit than 2025.
