If you thought it was only airports that pulled a crowd, think carefully again! A surprising US state saw nearly 1.5 million train passengers for the tax year – one New record Largely driven by a few unsuspecting cities.
At Travel Off Path we have always opened our eyes to the latest trends, deals and crust news. Well, not literally – we blink like someone else.

The point is that even our team of travel experts was shocked that travelers choose to hit the rails about road trips, especially for a place that is notorious to see beautiful mountain roads and also record air traffic.
But that is the case for Virginia.
Amtrak Virginia is currently the most popular train ticket, even if the most popular railroad operator in America launches their most exciting new route in years along the Gulf Coast.
Of course, Washington DC, plays a key role in the new success of Virginia, but do not sleep on the underrated outings of the “old Dominion”, ranging from Mountain Hideaways to Bayside Retreats.
Newport News: Not your morning newspaper

Does anyone read newspapers?
If they did, Newport News sounds like a publication that deals with the latest events in the Chesapeake Bay, but it is in fact the name of a rather considerable city of almost 200,000 people.
It can have a strange name, but it is perhaps this side of Virginia’s top hidden jewel Unknown beaches Because the popular beach of Virginia is nearby, and a considerable amount of natural beauty to enjoy, such as such as Newport News ParkOffering more than 7,000 hectares for walking, cycling, camping and paddle boating.
It seems that most travelers who cross Virginia may not know Newport news, but it is one of the best family-friendly cities in the state.

Visit the Abbitt Planetarium, The Peninsula SPCA & Barnyard (essentially a petting zoo), and in particular the open air Virginia Living MuseumOffering a mix of everything – a zoo, botanical garden, ‘Dinosaur Discovery Trail’ and the aforementioned Planetarium, reasonably priced at $ 21.95 for admission.
Almost 400,000 people jumped on board Amtrak Virginia to visit Newport News and raise the question if it is the next hotspot from Virginia since the next city we will discuss, the crown is currently …
Norfolk: Virginia’s trending summer destination
With about half a million passengers who travel through the air to Norfolk alone in June, plus a separate 542,743 Amtrak riders who visit last year, Norfolk is without a doubt the most trendy summer destination of Virginia.

Perhaps some visitors have crossed streams, but it is safe to say that Norfolk welcomes millions this year.
This underrated Chesapeake city is now completely furious and offers quiet beaches, a buzzing waterfront and a thriving arts and culinary scene.
New flights have certainly helped to give Norfolk a boost, but it is also an easy springboard to the most famous destination of Virginia in the neighborhood, Virginia Beach.
Although Amtrak Virginia does not offer a direct route, the pass-through service is offered by Bush.
If you are planning to visit Virginia Beach in the coming months, there is a laundry list with great events for autumn:

- Neptune Festival (26 – September 28)
- Moca Boardwalk Art Show (10 October-12)
- Mural Festival (October 3)
- Harvest Fair (September 27 – November 2)
Moreover, Virginia Beach still offers Dolphin tours for viewing the summer, often with less crowds – just take a jacket with you!
Skew numbers? Amtrak Virginia is top Gateway to the capitol

Given the iconic status of DC and the unexplored appeal of much of Virginia, it would be a piece to say that some of the record figures of Amtrak Virginia do not exceed the state line.
Virginia is the home of many government offices and military installations, making it easy and, some would say, sometimes necessary to visit DC, not only for tourism, but also on work -related matters.
Travelers can reach DC directly from Norfolk, and plans are discussed to shorten travel times and increase the frequency (although no time schedules have been provided).
Whether it is about things or pleasure, visiting the capital of the nation is a real joy during autumn, because some of America’s most beautiful architectural miracles are covered with rows of rustic tree lines and often see fewer crowds compared to the summer.

Although school vitrips from neighboring states are fully in force, can they perhaps pack earplugs?
