No crowds and postcard Shores: San Diego’s Secret Beach Hideaway Unveiled

Finally! It is the best time of the year to visit San Diego.

Labor Day laid a cap in the tourist season. Out-of-state Kenterborden are nowhere in sight, the weather is still warm, and now the beaches are only filled with the locals after a busy summer.

As a seasoned San Diegan himself, one thing has become clear – visitors have no idea what they are doing, and rightly so.

Many years ago I was in the same pickle before I lived the leap to live here full -time.

“Which beach is the best?”
“Is San Diego Zoo worth the entrance fee?”
“Where are the best tacos?”
“Shall I die when I crossed to Tijuana?”

All these questions are in quotes because I was asked to me time and time again.

So allow me to let you inside a secret …

You do not have to follow the crowds to a Bankbusthotel in Coronado, where the beach is often forbidden because of bacteria, or Snap seal With the seals of La Jolla if you can even overcome the unbearable smell.

Instead, you can go to my favorite stem plant from the coast, just north of San Diego, and it is largely overlooked by tourists.

Where San Diegans enjoy beach days without hordes of tourists

Look, with so many travel guides that are available nowadays, I would not say that tourists have not discovered the attraction of Solana Beach.

What I can say is neighboring del Mar, next to La Jolla and always so trendy oceanside, draws much more from the aforementioned records from the state than Solana Beach.

And if you see an Arizona or Nevada plate, it is likely that they will continue to mark the historic Highway 101 of their wish list, with part of the best view of South California on the Pacific Ocean.

It is very unlikely that holidaymakers choose Solana Beach. Not that it is unworthy – it just doesn’t receive much hype, so you can also come across some famous faces.

In fact, the famous actor Scott Eastwood is co-owner of the Saddlebar In the midst of a wonderful main road, and it is not uncommon to see Blink-182s Tom Delonge also hangs in the city if, among other things, he is not a knee deep in UFO survival.

Postcard kissed away from tourist magnets

They say that beauty is in the eyes of the viewer, and I have had Lasik apart since my last, so good luck for the new man of my ex.

I personally believe that Solana Beach has the most beautiful beaches of San Diego County, and I felt so from the moment I walked the apparently never ending staircase on Solana Vista Drive to Times Beach Park.

Surrounded by towering bluffs, hidden caves and usually bacteria -free coasts that are suitable for swimming, surfing and picking up playing with Fido (when the lifeguards don’t look there), it is closest to a paradise in Socal.

There is almost Always space to spray on a beach towel, throw the pig tuier around and if you are the type to go jogging along the beach, you don’t have to worry about weaving crowds in and out.

Unlike Mission Beach, which is by far a magnet for tourists with roller coasters by the sea and a buzzing promenade, Solana Beach is the perfect place to relax in amazing landscape.

Tides Beach Park is one of the many beautiful beaches to reach out, but it is personally my favorite because it feels like a Hush-Hush-Hush Hush Cove tourists who don’t know.

Others to consider Fletcher Cove And Solana Beach County ParkWith an almost perfect Google rating.

Moreover, Solana Beach is one of the few San Diego Beach cities without a flashy resort – it feels more authentic, as you see in the films.

Know your-rigged skateboarders of skateboarding of the rugged, chiseled lifeguards who scan the horizon, and almost everyone who wears shoes, so expect a soundtrack of click-knocking flip-flops (guilty as charged).

Nobody is in a hurry here … ever – and it’s pretty refreshing.

San Diego’s Middle Ground: Day trip or main residence?

Solana Beach is just 25 minutes from the newly renewed San Diego International Airport. If you fly inside, it is not unreasonable to make Solana Beach your basis, even if you are still planning to view the world -famous zoo, the always sniffing gas lamp quarter, or even make a journey across the border, where I can fully guarantee that you will not die.

Instead of renting a car and paying the sky-high gas prices of California, you could also jump on board at the picturesque Amtrak Pacific Surfliner that departs from both San Diego’s Little Italy and old city districts.

There are a few well -known names in Solana Beach, but if you are dead on luxury, you might want to visit Solana Beach as a day trip, because Courtyard and Holiday Inn Express are the best options within the city limits.

Maybe view my neck from the forest in Chula Vista, because the brand new resort Gaylord Pacific is completely anger!

As far as food is concerned, there are some great options in Solana and everywhere in San Diego. In fact, it is always funny to hear the fans of Dodgers talking with a mouthful in enemy area – the food here is bomb, like one of my most common hangouts, Pizzadoort.

Or maybe you long for a dinner on the beach. The truth is told, Mission Beach’s Miss B’s Coconut Club Has better Caribbean food than where I have also been to the Caribbean, and it is a stone’s throw from the beach plus they have an adult size “Capri Sun”. Do I have to say more?

But my most recent new favorite is in Oceanside, another of the undervalued beach cities of San Diego. You have to check out The Lobby Tiki BarIronically as a lobby to the oldest building in Oceanside, which has been transformed into the self-service brick hotel with an ocean view roof that you never want to leave.

Every bite and sip was a perfect 10/10. Get hungry, leave happy and definitely grab an uber after ordering a level 3 Painkiller Cocktail (if you know, you know).
