The Looks That Set the Tone

The buzz around awards season really starts when fashion starts telling its own story. At the center of that conversation, the 2026 Golden Globes ushered in a new wave of fashion moments that went beyond the expected formula. On the streets and on the red carpets, glamor was not simply worn; it was carried with confidence, intention and presence. From sculptural couture to refined tailoring, last week felt less like a highlight and more like a clear preview of where fashion is going.

Remarkably, the tone had already been set when the week started. At pre-award events, media appearances and other red carpet moments, the stars stepped out in looks driven by storytelling rather than trends, favoring expression over excess. That same energy flowed seamlessly through the week, where classic elegance coexisted comfortably with modern risk-taking. Sharp tailoring, thoughtful cutouts and understated statement details defined the most memorable moments of the week. In that sense, the Golden Globes were just the culmination of a week in which celebrities made fashion the main event.

The appearance

Teyana Taylor set the tone early during the Louis Vuitton and W Magazine Intimate Awards Season Dinner. She appeared in a sharply tailored, off-white Louis Vuitton ensemble that balanced classic menswear codes with modern softness. In the center was a wrap-style coat, cinched at the waist and finished with long, flowing panels that extended to the floor. The silhouette felt deliberate and controlled, highlighting Teyana’s ability to make tailoring feel both powerful and elegant without falling into excess.

Elsewhere at the Golden Globes, Chase Infiniti provided a look defined by contrast and control. She wore a strapless Louis Vuitton gown, anchored by a sculptural, mirrored bodice that shimmered under the lights. The mosaic-like embellishments formed a structured peplum at the waist, while the long black skirt balanced the offering. Each reflective surface caught the camera’s flash, but the overall effect remained measured, proving that drama can exist without overwhelming the wearer.

In the meantime, Tessa Thompson relied entirely on Schiaparelli’s conceptual language in the Vanity fair and Amazon MGM Studios event. Her gaze blurred the line between fashion and form. She paired a custom asymmetrical leather top, inspired by trompe l’oeil techniques, with a matching skirt that reflected the same tension between illusion and structure. The outfit did not function as decoration, but as a statement. Minimal makeup and understated accessories ensured that the focus remained firmly on the design itself, allowing the craftsmanship and concept to remain leading.
