Four months later Kandi Burrus was made public in one of reality TV’s most high-profile splits, the chapter is officially closing in a courtroom. Burruss and her estranged husband, Todd Tuckerinformed the Fulton County Superior Court on March 11 that they had reached a full and final divorce settlement, after months of bitter back and forth both legally and publicly.
The road to this settlement was anything but smooth. What started as a relatively measured public announcement in November 2025 quickly escalated into a contentious custody dispute, competing legal claims over who was actually raising the children, and a separate six-figure restaurant lawsuit sitting uncomfortably in the background.
The court has now ordered Burruss and Tucker to file their final settlement papers regarding child support and a formal parenting plan by next week. The finer details of the agreement remain hidden from the public, but the broad strokes of how things unraveled are largely on paper.

Burruss and Tucker married in April 2014 after meeting on the set of RHOA’s fourth season in 2011. Together, they built what from the outside looked like a real partnership: two children, multiple businesses, spinoff television projects and a decade of shared public life. It turns out the cracks were forming long before anything became official.
When Burruss showed up Watch what’s happening live in February 2026, she told Andy Cohen that the decision became clear in July 2025. “In July I thought, ‘Oh yeah. No, I can’t do this anymore.'” she said. Cohen pressed for details and she acknowledged there was a specific incident but kept the details strictly private. “I don’t talk about it on Watch What Happens.” she said laughing. She had made her statement People back in November with characteristic calm. In that statement, she said her focus remained on “Protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”
The custody battle that complicated everything
What made this divorce messier than either party probably intended was the custody dispute. Burruss initially filed for joint custody of their children, Ace10, and Bladder6. Tucker then filed for primary custody, arguing that Burruss had spent a lot of time working in New York while remaining in Georgia to care for the children. Burruss pushed back, disputing that story and pointing out that Tucker had been living rent-free in a boarding house on her property after moving out of the main residence.
The two competing versions of the same household told the story of a split that had become truly hostile beneath the surface, even as both continued to show up at their son’s basketball games and presented a united front for the kids. There were also reports that Tucker disputed their prenuptial agreement, something Burruss quickly shot down on WWHL, clarifying that it was their legal teams, and not Tucker personally, who had raised the possibility of disputing it as a negotiating position.
Where things stand now for both of them

Despite the legal turbulence, Burruss has been consistent about one thing throughout: Her children will not suffer collateral damage. “Our ultimate goal is to ensure that all our children are happy and that they do not become victims of our drama,” she told Cohen on WWHL. She also said she did that “no regrets” about marriage, giving her two children whom she loves, and she has described her role in the Broadway show “& Juliet” as the best therapy she could have asked for during this time.
The settlement comes with another legal issue up in the air. Separately from the divorce proceedings, the parent company of their former restaurant Blaze Steak and Seafood was ordered to pay their landlord $140,509 to resolve a dispute over unpaid rent and repair costs, ending a legal battle that had already lasted more than a year. Burruss has openly said she regrets getting involved with Tucker given where it all ended up, telling a podcast audience that she just wants to get back to her creative space. Now that the divorce is finalized and the restaurant disputes are behind us, that space may finally be within reach.
