St. Petersburg Restaurants Make Debut in Michelin Guide

Two esteemed restaurants in St. Petersburg have gained recognition in the 2026 Michelin Guide Florida selection, marking the first time the renowned guide has covered the entire state. The announcement was made on May 28, with downtown waterfront newcomer, Elliott Aster, and the Tokyo-inspired In Between Days making it to Michelin’s “recommended” list. This acknowledgment signifies that these establishments are deemed worthy of a visit by Michelin inspectors.

Introducing the Honored St. Pete Restaurants

Elliott Aster, located at The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club on St. Petersburg’s downtown waterfront, offers a fine dining experience. Launched in May 2025 by Michelin-starred chef Lee Wolen and Chicago’s Boka Restaurant Group, the restaurant specializes in Italian steakhouse cuisine, featuring wood-fired steaks and house-made pastas in an elegant setting.

Michelin’s expansion to cover the entire state of Florida in 2026 showcases approximately 200 restaurants across 41 cuisine types, with 26 establishments receiving Michelin Stars. The guide’s journey began in 2022 with Miami, Orlando, and Tampa, eventually encompassing regions like Greater Fort Lauderdale, the Palm Beaches, and the St. Pete-Clearwater area. Notable additions in the 2026 selection include Emelina in West Palm Beach and Mutra in Miami earning One Star ratings, and Tampa’s Fat Beet Farm Kitchen and Bakery receiving a Green Star for sustainable cooking.

Impact on Tampa Bay Dining Scene

While Pinellas County restaurants are yet to secure a Michelin Star or Bib Gourmand, locally acclaimed spots like Il Ritorno, Sushi Sho Rexley, and Fortu have retained their recommended status. The recognition from Michelin serves as a significant milestone for the Tampa Bay dining scene, attracting more visitors intrigued by the region’s culinary offerings alongside its picturesque beaches and cultural attractions.

As Brian Lowack, president and CEO of Visit St. Pete-Clearwater, notes, the area’s culinary culture continues to flourish, drawing travelers who appreciate exceptional dining experiences. The recent accolades are a testament to the region’s culinary evolution, paving the way for future recognition while solidifying its reputation as a culinary destination.
