Essex steam train, Connecticut
If you are looking for a combination of rail and river forwarding, the Essex steam train maybe just what you need. Located in the Connectivity River Valley, a beautiful part of the country that is often overlooked, this trip offers some serious views.
Dating back to 1868, this ride is narrated and also offers some great bird watching in the wetlands along the river. The train and riverboat ride takes about two and a half hours, and if you opt for the train only, the journey takes about an hour.
