United Mile Play Offer: Earn Bonus Miles on Your Next United Flight
If you’re a United loyalist, you’ll be excited to hear that the popular United Mile Play promotion is back with a new round of offers. It’s time to log into your account and see if you have a new Mile Play offer waiting for you.
United Mile Play is a promotion that rewards you with bonus miles when you register and complete a specific task assigned to you by United. Not every United MileagePlus member will receive an offer each time, and the offers can vary widely from one member to another. However, it’s always worth checking to see if you have an offer whenever a new round of the promotion is launched.
For example, I recently received a United Mile Play offer for 3,000 bonus miles. All I have to do is book and take a trip with a minimum fare of $100 by Oct. 5.

Before you book your trip, make sure to carefully read the terms and conditions of your offer. In my case, the trip must be a unique travel itinerary documented by United with a confirmation number, the fare must be at least $100 before taxes and fees, and I must book the trip after registering for the offer. Only fares for eligible flights operated by United and United Express will count towards the bonus miles.
Unique Mile Play Offers for United MileagePlus Members
United Mile Play offers can vary significantly among members. Here are some examples of offers that other TPG staffers have received:
- Annie Black: Earn 3,900 bonus miles by booking and taking one trip (must spend $200)
- Carly Helfand: Earn 19,000 bonus miles by booking and taking five trips (must spend $200 on each trip)
- Clint Henderson: Earn 18,000 bonus miles by booking and taking three trips (must spend $250 on each trip)
- Gene Sloan: Earn 2,500 bonus miles by booking and taking two trips (must spend $300 on each trip)
- Lyndsey Matthews: Earn 13,000 bonus miles by booking and taking two trips (must spend $250 on each trip)
- Maggie Moran: Earn 5,300 bonus miles by booking and taking two trips (must spend $175 on each trip)
- Nick Ewen: Earn 5,500 bonus miles by booking and taking one trip (must spend $250)
- Zoe Jablow: Earn 12,000 bonus miles by booking and taking three trips (must spend $175 on each trip)
It’s interesting to note that even loyal United flyers like Gene can receive smaller bonus offers, while occasional United travelers like Lyndsey, Clint, and Nick may be incentivized to shift some flights to United with their offers. Carly, a regular United flyer, received one of the largest offers, although it required five trips.
Some of our staffers based in New York City reported that their Mile Play offers were labeled as “NYC member bonus” offers. These enticing offers are prompting some of them to book new travel, such as Annie who is excited to earn 3,900 miles on a trip by Oct. 5.
United Mile Play Level Up Challenges
In addition to the initial flight requirement, some members also received Level Up challenges that offer additional miles for completing extra tasks. For example, Lyndsey received a Level Up challenge for up to 25,700 additional bonus miles if she completes three tasks.
Annie, on the other hand, has a Level Up challenge for up to 14,400 miles if she completes two tasks.
If Annie or Lyndsey were interested in adding a United MileagePlus credit card to their wallet, they could earn even more miles through both their Level Up challenges and one of the following welcome offers:
- United Club℠ Card: Earn up to 90,000 bonus miles by spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
- United Quest℠ Card: Earn up to 70,000 bonus miles and 500 PQPs by spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
- United℠ Explorer Card: Earn up to 60,000 bonus miles by spending $3,000 in the first three months from account opening.
Ultimately, it’s always a good idea to check for a United Mile Play offer when a new round is launched. Make sure to register before booking and review the requirements of your specific offer carefully. While my offer for 3,000 bonus miles sounds enticing, I don’t have any travel plans by Oct. 5 that would allow me to take advantage of the offer, so I may have to let this one go unused.
