Condor Announces New Nonstop Service Between Chicago and Frankfurt
Condor, a major German airline, is expanding its U.S. presence with the introduction of daily seasonal nonstop flights between Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA). The service, set to commence on May 14, 2027, and run until September 12, 2027, will provide Midwestern travelers with a convenient new option for direct flights to Europe, challenging competitors like United Airlines and Lufthansa.
This new route marks Condor’s 12th gateway in the U.S. and Canada, demonstrating the airline’s commitment to expanding its operations across North America.
Enhancing Travel Options for Chicago Passengers
“Chicago is an ideal addition to our North American network, offering significant potential for both leisure and business travel,” stated Condor CEO Peter Gerber. “With this new service, we aim to provide our guests with easy access to one of the United States’ most important metropolitan regions, while also enabling seamless connections to various European destinations via our Frankfurt hub.”
Condor will face competition from Star Alliance members United Airlines and Lufthansa, both of which already operate daily services on the same route. Notably, O’Hare serves as a hub for United Airlines, while Frankfurt acts as a hub for Lufthansa.
Frankfurt also serves as a central hub for Condor, facilitating nonstop connections to several other European cities such as Paris, Rome, and Barcelona.
Despite not being part of a global frequent flyer alliance, Condor has established separate mileage and point partnerships with select carriers, including Alaska Airlines and JetBlue.
Travel Rewards and Partnerships
Passengers flying with Condor can earn and redeem points on eligible flights, with partnerships in place for reward programs such as Alaska Airlines’ Atmos Rewards and JetBlue’s TrueBlue.
The Chicago-Frankfurt route will be operated using Condor’s Airbus A330neo aircraft, equipped with lie-flat seats in business class, enhanced legroom and amenities in premium economy.
