Given the recent safety warnings for popular Caribbean destinations, these are currently the safest Caribbean islands to visit.
Jamaica, one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean, recently received an enhanced travel alert from the U.S. Department of State due to excessive crime and a lack of available medical services.
This Level 3 warning urges travelers to reconsider their trip to Jamaica now.

Meanwhile, a travel advisory was also issued for the Bahamas due to the increase in crime on the islands, especially in the popular tourist center of Nassau.
While it is certainly still possible to have a safe vacation to both Jamaica and the Bahamas despite these travel warnings, here is a rundown of the safest Caribbean destinations worth a trip in 2024.
All of these destinations have a Level 1 (“Exercise Normal Precauts”) rating from the U.S. Department of State, the lowest rating available.

1. ABC Islands
The ABC Islands, consisting of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, are three of the safest islands in the Caribbean.
These Dutch dependencies have very little crime And they are safe from natural disasters because they are outside the hurricane zone of the Caribbean.
Aruba and Curaçao are more developed, while Bonaire is smaller and rougher. All three islands have beautiful beaches and Bonaire has some of the best diving in the Caribbean.

2. Antigua and Barbuda
Another one of the safest destinations in the Caribbean is Antigua and Barbuda.
This two-island nation is becoming increasingly popular with tourists, especially the island of Antigua.
It is a sunny island with beautiful beaches, friendly people and a high level of safety.
And Barbuda, a remote and rugged island worth getting to, is also very safe.

3. Barbados
Barbados is an incredibly diverse and safe destination that is perfect for all types of travelers.
And it is again one of the safest countries in the Caribbean!
Whether you’re looking for great beaches, history and culture, adrenaline-pumping activities, or fun nightlife, you’ll find it all in Barbados.

4. Dominica
Dominica is one of the lesser-known Caribbean destinations, but this small island is quickly growing in popularity with travelers.
With its breathtaking mountains and rugged terrain, Dominica is the perfect destination for nature lovers. It is also a great destination for health and wellness and diving.

5. Granada
Another one of the safest destinations in the Caribbean is Grenada. According to the US Department of State, this island paradise has a Level 1 safety rating, meaning very little crime.
Nicknamed the Spice Island, this little slice of paradise is packed with natural wonders, beautiful beaches and plenty of culture and history.
Although it still flies under the radar compared to some of the more popular Caribbean islands, Grenada is becoming increasingly popular.

6. Saint Lucia
Saint Lucia is an extremely safe (and beautiful!) island in the Caribbean. It’s a romantic destination that’s perfect for a honeymoon or couples getaway.
Travelers to this amazing island can also enjoy a worry-free holiday knowing that Saint Lucia is one of the safest countries in the Caribbean.

7. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Yet another safe Caribbean destination is Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. This country consists of 32 islands (nine of which are inhabited) and is known for its breathtaking natural beauty.
In addition to its black-sand beaches and lush island interiors, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is also known for its cultural and historical attractions.
