Areas to avoid in Puerto Vallarta
Don’t go to faraway neighborhoods in Puerto Vallarta, especially if you’re not familiar with the area. The tourist area along the beach and the main street is largely well patrolled by law enforcement personnel.

Airport scams: Upon exiting customs, travelers encounter a large sliding door where countless people wait, aiming to exploit unsuspecting visitors. Taxi scams: As most taxis do not have meters, it is essential that you agree on a fare before starting your journey. Negotiate the price in advance so that there is clarity about the costs per person and destination. Always negotiate, as initial prices are often too high. Timeshare fraud: Timeshare representatives may entice you with promises of free drinks, tequila, or tours in exchange for a short-term commitment.
